Hills Cloud Oberheim Four Voice (FVS-1) Restoration

Hills Cloud has several posts up on the restoration of an Oberheim Four Voice (FVS-1) with tons of pics and details. Be sure to see the rest of the site for more.

"I'm an avid music-gear hobbyist trying my hand at blogging for the first time, and thought I'd attempt to share some of my synth-related projects. I'm currently documenting a restoration of my Oberheim FVS-1 and MS-1A, and have attempted to chronicle some of my past undertakings - a Space Echo motor rebuild/bearing replacement, mono aftertouch customization on my SCI Pro-one, a Minimoog Model D refinish, and others. I have a slew of upcoming projects in the hopper (OB-8, Solina, 5U modular, Rhodes, and GR700 to name a few), and as I get into these I'll be posting tons of photos of the gear inside-and-out, occasional music/sounds, and any relevant technical info in hopes of helping or inspiring others who might be embarking on similar projects. I'd welcome any feedback, comments and contributions, and most of all I hope you enjoy it!"

zv_k - live - 17.8.11

zv_k - live - 17.8.11 by zv_k

"ZV_K is the new live project from Zvukoprocessor. Since his early electronic works in 1997 to the launch of Triangle Eyes in 2011, his sound has developed from primitive industrial electronica and synth punk (NTFG) through noisedance-electro (Penetrating Crankshaft), cinematic soundscapes, experimental noise and glitchy dub (Seventeen Migs Of Spring) to hypnotic techno with ZV_K
ZV_K does not use computers on stage, all sounds are generated by real electronic instruments - tracks combined from basic elements in real time - each time in a new way.

This set was played on Elektron's Machinedrum, Monomachine and Octatrack loaded with samples from Euro Modular, x0xb0x, Nord Rack1 and Waldorf mQ. some extra Nord and Q parts were sequenced on the Octatrack. x0xb0x played live as well. "

Novation UltraNova First Review, Sound Preview and Unboxing.

YouTube Uploaded by PBARAKA on Apr 14, 2011

"In this video I will show you globally the features and go thru some of its sounds...The Novation UltraNova is a analogue-modelling synthesizer with a powerful effects processor. It is a single-part synth with the latest technology. It has wavetable synthesis, powerful filters, a software editor and a revolutionary new touch-sense performance mode. It's Also a Soundcard!
I love the sound of this synth, great VST editor pluging and library, love the soundcard feature all the inputs and outputs. Looks cool and fun bleu led wheel lights... 300 onboard sounds, with good sound search engine, upcoming artist soundpacks, Animate -- Touch-sense performance knobs and great aftertouch keybed. I would had liked a dedicated Tempo knob and found the vocoder to be average....and yes there is a Unboxing video a then end of the review.
