SympleSynth

"This is my answer for an Ultra Simple Synth voice for your Baby 10 or other sequencer build. It's designed to be EASY to build and uses the absolute minimum of parts for its functions. It was a response to so many people building Baby 10's and using them to make terrible sounds with 555 circuits. :) You know who you are.
This will make music/noise/sound with anything that outputs a CV (Control Voltage) (1 to 5 volts or so) and Gate or Trigger of a couple volts - for example the SympleSeq DIY sequencer kit. You could even plug your vintage analog synth keyboard or Ribbon controller into it if you want - but don't expect 1 volt per Octave. This IS a very crude VCO, VCF and VCA approximation on one small PCB with about $15 worth of parts (much less if you shop smart)
Top two knobs are Filter cut off and Filter Res, second two are Attack / Decay, Red knob is VCO 2 pitch, and the switch chooses VCO1, VCO2, or Both
This is recorded direct into the computer - no processing."

"This is a project I did for evaluation at HKU school of fine arts Utrecht. It uses an arduino to process the inputs from the light sensitive resistors and outputs it as a midi message. Software on the computer then turns this value into the corresponding note. All the sounds are made in Ableton Live and in the second part of the video you can hear the 4 different modes, instruments, synthesis, samples and drums."

Bridechamber to Handle MOTM DIY

via Paul Schreiber of Synthesis Technology, aka MOTM:

"Beginning Thursday Sept. 1st, Scott Deyo of Bridechamber (www.bridechamber.com) will be taking over my 'MOTM 2.0' side of the business.

These are the 'DIY' parts: the blank pc boards, panels, rails, connector boards, etc. I will still handle the assembled module orders.

I will be transferring this inventory via Fed-Ex ground on Tuesday. It will take a few days to travel from Texas to Minnesota. Scott has the web pages ready to so 'live' on the 1st. The pricing will be *exactly* the same.

If you have a current order, or place an order by tomorrow, I will still ship it. But orders placed after this will be shipped by Bridechamber.

I will have notification on the site and on the ordering pages to redirect inquires to Bridechamber on the 1st.

There are some items that are low in inventory and Scott will not have them immediately. They are: MOTM-20 power cables, MOTM-490 DIY parts and MOTM-800 DIY parts. Also, he will have limited BR1 and BR-15 brackets until my reorder arrives in ~ 18 days. It's going to take a bit of back-and-forth to get everything accounted for and everyone happy.

Scott is doing all of us a great favor by doing this, as this will free up more time for me to address the assembled/kit backlog. Please email me if you have any worries or concerns.

ARP 2500 Modular Analog Synthesizer for Sale

via weisma where you'll also find a 2600 and 1611 sequencer.

"In the 1960s I was one of the pioneers of contemporary electronic music in the Netherlands. In the 1970’s, when the portable ARP 2600 synthesizer was created by ARP Instruments, Inc., I decided to start my private electronic music studio “Five Roses”, using the ARP 2600 for studio compositions as well as live electro-acoustic performances. At a later stage, when the modular ARP 2500 synthesizer was introduced, I expanded the capabilities my studio step by step.

The ARP synthesizers have been the center of my work for many years, but as electronic music became mainstream, my focus shifted to acoustic contemporary music. It is therefore that I have decided to put up my now classical ARP 2500 and 2600 synthesizers for sale for the collector, or for the musician that wishes to explore the unique sound of these landmark analog synthesizers."

Details on the 2500:
1974 2515 Studio Cabinet with 15 module positions
SN 74-005

Modules:
"1002 Power Supply
SN 1974/30262
Power supply included with the cabinet.

1004T Voltage Controlled Oscillator
SN 1976/50246
Single precision voltage controlled oscillator offering five simultaneous waveform outputs: sine, triangle, square, sawtooth, and pulse. Provides frequency modulation, pulse width modulation and built-in waveform mixer. Also provides inverted waveform outputs.
