The Missing Link controlling a Moog Little Phatty with TB MIDI Stuff

The Missing Link controlling a Moog Little Phatty via an iPhone with the TB MIDI Stuff Tiny App

"In this video we demonstrate how to connect an iPhone to the Missing Link and then how to control a Moog Little Phatty via a custom template designed in TB MIDI Stuff Tiny (http://www.thiburce.com/).

The two major advances we haven't seen before here are that we can now draw templates directly on our iOS devices themselves, rather than on a computer and transferring them. We also demonstrate the native support for The Missing Link that is integrated directly into TB MIDI Stuff - this makes developing templates much easier and avoids the necessity of creating custom OSC messages."

Verbos Harmonic Oscillator Demos

Verbos Harmonic Oscillator demo 1 from todd barton on Vimeo.

"OK. . . this is just out of the box moments ago. This is a very rudimentary demonstration of just a few of the basic functions. Apologies for the poor recording quality of my flipcam mic -- you will occasionally hear some graininess, aliasing, and light distortion due, I think to the mics inability to handle the difference tones and rich harmonic content. The sounds I am hearing are very, very pure! The faders are as smooth as butter and the pots have a nice easy resistance. This demo is all just on a single fundamental pitch -- haven't even hooked this up to a sequencer. No effects or processing. At some point I'll post a high quality audio on soundcloud. Hope this is helpful."

Roland GR-500 Guitar Synthesizer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"Roland GR-500 - the first guitar synth produced by Roland. Used by Genesis (and Steve Hackett solo), Rush, Boston, and others, the GR-500 was a revolutionary product. Some called it "the ultimate musical instrument."

Includes the GR-500 guitar controller (sometimes called the GS-500), the GR-500 synthesizer module, the connecting cable, the Roland case for the guitar, copies of the owner's manual, service manual and ads/articles, and extra 24-pin connection sockets (2 male and 2 female plus the pins).

The GR-500 lets you play just the straight guitar sound (pretty good in its own right), or select one or more synth sections to play instead of or along with the guitar. The external synth section allows you to use the guitar to send CV/Gate signals to other analog synths, too. It's enormously flexible. Each audio section can be routed to one of 3 different output jacks; any of the synth sections can be enabled and controlled from the guitar (or play all 3 plus the guitar for a "wall-of-sound" effect). Each synth section has basic envelope controls; the bass section has separate sliders for percussion, hard, and soft sounds; the solo melody section has a nice resonant low pass filter; and, the poly ensemble section has a mixing section for low, middle, high, and fundamental. The poly ensemble output can be run through the solo melody filter for a nice sound. There's even an LFO and remote control over the LFO routing to the filter from the GR-500 controller.

The guitar, guitar electronics, synth electronics, cable, and manuals are all in great shape. The guitar and synth engine were professionally calibrated in 2008. When used recently, it worked but sounded a bit glitchy (I haven't had time to investigate having it calibrated/services, so it's being sold "as is"). The guitar case is in good condition, but the tolex shows signs of wear. This is a 110 volt unit. It will be shipped in 2 boxes to protect the synth and the guitar.

Size and weight info: when boxed-up, the size and weight will be approximately:
GR-500 synth: 30x15x10 inches, weight: 25 lb.
GS-500 guitar: 42x20x10 inches, weight: 25 lb."

KORG MP10Pro - New Low Price

"KORG Delivers MP-10 PRO Professional Media Player At New Low Price

-All-in-one MIDI instrument and dual-song player for the mobile entertainer -

MELVILLE, NY, March 2012 - The Korg MP-10 Pro Professional Media Player is an ideal musical companion for mobile entertainers, solo keyboardists and singers. This all-in-one product brings together a reliable and easy-to-navigate performance interface with hands-on control over the most essential forms of media required by performers. This technology is now being offered in the same professional package, at a new price that suits the needs for casual performers as well.

As a media player, the MP-10 Pro features two independent media song players; each is able to play both MP3 and MIDI files* directly from the massive 120 GB internal hard drive. The motorized 60-mm crossfader allows for DJ-style mixing. Songs can be saved into multiple playlists, and the database can be sorted using any criteria. Playlists can be easily imported or created "on the fly." Once found, the song can be immediately sent to either of the two players. An ASCII keyboard can also be used to quickly call up songs by name.
* .mid, .mid+G, .kar, .xf, .mp3 + lyrics, .mp3+G

As a MIDI instrument, the MP-10 Pro can play MIDI files from the song players. The internal sound engine uses the same EDS (Enhanced Definition Synthesis) found in the Korg M3 Music Workstation and can also be played from an external MIDI controller or instrument. The front panel offers four assignable performance pads for triggering sound effects and musical phrases. Numerous on-board effects are available for the internal players and MIDI engine. For the entertainer, singer or MC, the MP-10 Pro is equipped with a TC Helicon vocal processor offering compression, EQ and delay.

A pitch shifter, a time stretch function for changing the tempo, and an advanced vocal remover allow MP3 or MIDI files to be customized to suit the entertainer's style or different singers' abilities for karaoke performances.

The MP-10 Pro features Korg's huge color TouchView™ display for extreme ease of use. A comprehensive set of connections provides maximum versatility. In addition to the PC keyboard, MIDI and USB connections, there are two XLR microphone inputs and two USB host connections to accommodate external media. The composite video output allows users to provide karaoke lyric display, or to mimic the touch screen display on an external monitor. A headphone-based cue system is provided as well.

The Korg MP-10 Pro is now available for a U.S. MSRP of $1900 (formerly $2700). For additional product information, please visit www.korg.com/mp10pro."
