Bitch Cracker Cries For Help

YouTube Published on Jul 19, 2012 by dolphinicus

"Lunetta 11 - panel #5 is complete. 8 Personality Panhandler; 8 passive attenuators and 4 x triple input AC mixers.
This is a simple 'drone' type track with the Bitch Cracker (Nick Collins / Draal modified / myself modified, Pitch Tracker) kicking in later, modulating 2 of the Voltage Controlled Pulse Width Oscillators (that I mis-ID'd in the video, as 4093s. They're 4023's.) About 3 1/2 minutes long, due to low battery. I hope you enjoy.
Panel #6 if successful will be an MFOS 8+ channel stereo mixer that I'm beginning today."

Dave Smith Evolver with red LEDs and black panel.

"The DSI Evolver is one of the best synths in my opinion. I totally love it.
I can't stand blue LEDs so I decided to replace them with red ones.
After that I made a panel that looks more like the Prophet-5 / Pro~One and uploaded it to styleflip.com.
I also replaced the knobs with the ones from DSI's lovely synth Prophet-08.

I might replace the display some day too."

JX8P LED Disco

"By pressing down a little key, it plays a little me... no! :) But by holding down PIANO 2 and PIANO 3 while starting up, you enter the JX8P test mode. It will indicate which (of the 6) voices are in use. And how many. Here's a little melody to demonstrate the 8P LED disco! (It's also a demo showing how aggressively it should be played, hehe)."

timeFrogIII sequencer mode tutorial part2: using two clocks

YouTube Published on Jul 19, 2012 by UNDEADINSTRUMENTS

"Once again Ableton Live used as a MIDI instruments launcher, driven by a timeFrog, with the purpose to show some advanced features in the sequencer part of the device:

0:00 manual slot handling
0:10 automated slot to have a preview of the arpeggio programmed on the slot
0:18 linear arpeggio, sequencer launch using this arpeggio
0:20 step down arpeggio, sequencer launch using this arpeggio
0:30 step down arpeggio, sequencer launch using this arpeggio
0:50 tri state arpeggio...
1:30 enable a second slot sequenced
2:00 contretemps
from 2:30 freestyle use: clock mixing, cross config & part change on the fly, sequencer editing with length, fill mode, MIDI gate, square to lame rythm"

Tiptop Audio SD808

http://tiptopaudio.com/

"The SD808 is the TR-808's analog snare drum circuit for use in Eurorack modular synthesizer format and was designed to sound like a fresh-out-of-the-box, 1980s TR-808 snare. Adapting the circuit to the modular format has allowed us to add special features like independent accent levels, a high-powered gain stage, a dual-input pulse-shaper, and an adjustable noise source - all without compromising the signature sound of the TR--808 snare drum."

Modular Tracks 1 - Tanacetum

Modular Tracks 1 - Tanacetum from Joris Menten on Vimeo.

The first real "track" here. I wanted to do something summery like Roedelius or so. Not sure if it is the Belgium weather but it didn't end up that summery.

No full explanation of the patches this time, but some info:
- main sequence is from the oberkorn: 2 16 note sequences, each played twice, using a clock divider and sequential switch
- these sequences are played by the Livewire AFG through the AMSyths JP6 filter
- then through my Korg PME4: 3 analoge delays+flanger
- baseline is from the 3rd channel of the oberkorn, played by a doepfer VCO through the AS multimode filter
- the "strings" are the could generator controlled by an SQ8 sequencer through the AMSynths JP8 filter (clocked at 1 step for each 16 steps on the oberkorn), through a Boss DD20 delay
- everything is transposed by a second SQ8
- all notes are quantized using 2 doepfer quantizers
This is recorded in one run. Then I added two tracks whit some random noises from a noise source through an AS "EMS" filter, an AS echo module and the korg PME40X pedal board.

The mandolin was not used ...
