"This video shows my home-made computer-based spectrum analyzer I have now on sale."

"This is a home-made computer-based FFT Spectrum Analyzer that I made for my studio. It's built into a 1u rack cabinet, the hardware is based on a MINI-ITX industrial mother board with a 1 Gb Disk On Module (SSD) running Windows EMBEDDED, a special version of Windows especially made for running just one task, exactly like industrial machineries and medical appliances. It has a write protections, boots up automatically when you give it power and doesn't need a mouse or a keyboard to turn off, just pull the plug.

The FFT display shows the R+L sum with peaks and average amplitude in a range from 20 to 20 K Hz. The whole system was assembled and pre-configured for doing just what it has to do. Hook it up and hang the display on your wall and you're done.

I made it for my studio because I think it's important to "see the audio", because it often happens that you hear things that are not there or there are things that you can't hear. Having a good pair of speakers and an FFT helps to make a better mix."

"The DS-8 Clone Drum Synth is one of our favorite new circuits. There is a lot of sonic potential and functionality built into the circuit. If the Drum Synth is your first build, don’t worry about this project being difficult; despite the number of components, the build process is fairly straightforward..."

Freeze Comparison: EHX Superego vs Red Panda Particle Delay vs Gijs Gieskes DEP2a

YouTube Published on Jul 30, 2012 by coloringpad

"Three freeze pedals processing voice.

A note on the audio: This audio was captured from an amazing radio program called Radiolab on NPR. The podcast is available on iTunes for free, and you should really consider subscribing. This podcast in particular is called Musical Language, and as a musician, has changed how I perceive sound and is one of the most astonishing pieces of radio I have ever encountered. I hope Radiolab and Diana Deutsch are not offended by me using it. Listen @ http://www.radiolab.org/2007/sep/24/

Find the Particle Delay @ redpandalab.com
Find the DEP2a @ http://gieskes.nl/shop/
Find the Superego basically anywhere

I modded and tweaked out the DEP2a myself: find my stuff @ coloringpad.org

Thanks for watching!"
