Propellerhead Reason: Radical Piano as a Send Effect

YouTube Published on Aug 27, 2012 by line6movies

"In this video, Line 6's Propellerhead Product Specialist Matt Piper shows you how to use Propellerhead's new Radical Piano Rack Extension as a Send Effect for processing audio. Although the example in the video shows the effect being used on drums, this effect can also sound great on vocals or solo instruments."

My Favorite Serge "Soup" Feedback Patch

My Favorite Serge "Soup" Feedback Patch from Rastko Lazic on Vimeo.

I love to discover new feedback paths on the Serge modular.
This is where it becomes really alive and full of surprises.
I actually often use feedbacks but in a much subtler way then this video demonstrates.

The Soup panel has much more feedback paths then shown in this video but this patch is particularly interesting as I use the Variable Slope VCF as the center of the patch.
I had really hard time understanding the usefulness of this filter but after Cebec wrote about http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65698 the feedback possibilities and how to use them suddenly this filter became very useful and a great sound sculpting tool.

I should add that I use a saw wave as a source at the beginning of the video to demonstrate the sound of the filter before the feedback. The feedback is possible to achieve without a sound source as well.

Once again thanks goes to Cebec.

Noise can be beautiful, strong and alive.
Let the machines speak.

"A simple patch showing CoMoSoCoFoMo (Complex Modulation Source Composer For Modulars, made with Max/Msp) controlling the Serge Modular. This time through Expert Sleepers ES-3, but any DC-coupled audio interface should work."
