Maurice Joshua on Wikipedia
via the listing: "This Roland Juno 106 Synthesizer is in near perfect condition. I purchased it last year from a friend who had bought it from legendary Chicago house musician Maurice Joshua (It still has his original presets.) Everything works perfectly on the synthesizer with the exception of the LFO rate slider which needs to be replaced. I am including the replacement part. The old slider still works but the knob snapped of and you have to use something like a bobby pin if you want to reach in and move the post to adjust. All oscillators function as they should, all the buttons work and don't stick, all other knobs and sliders are complete and move smoothly and without fail. All six voice chips work perfectly. All of the keys are complete and don't squeak or bind up. Comes with power cord." There's no way to verify of course.

"The main issue is the unit makes one continuous sound and none of the keys/notes trigger sound leading me to believe something ( a cable) is unplugged to the keybed itself. The keybed itself is intact and no keys are cracked or broken but the keybed is loose and angled to the the right side meaning something in the keybed is not aligned/attached properly. The keybed is loose from the bracket that holds the keybed in place..." See the bottom pic.

Buchla 100: Freq Shift Patch 01
YouTube Published on Sep 6, 2012 by djangosfire
"Getting to know the Buchla 100.
All sounds from the Buchla, aside from the Reverb (provided by the Jason R. Butcher VCRV module).
Using a 196 Phase Shifter + 111 Dual Ring Modulator + 158 Dual VCO to patch up a frequency shifter.
The random sequence comes from careful attenuation of the 165 Random Voltage Source.
The steady clock is from the 140 Timing Pulse Generator . . . and the chaotic clock comes from a 160 White Noise Source patched through the 130 Envelope Detector back into the 14"

Synare and WerkBench wake up the neighbors!

"WerkBench is available for the iPad in the app store: http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/stat?id=BbMoJAYKBh8&offerid=146261&type=3&subid=0&tmpid=1826&RD_PARM1=http%253A%252F%252Fitunes.apple.com%252Fus%252Fapp%252Fwerkbench%252Fid522262614%253Fmt%253D8%2526uo%253D4%2526partnerId%253D30
Here we are using WerkBench to make a groove using sounds from a late-1970's analog drum synth known as the Synare 3.
The Star Instruments Synare is most famous for its use on disco records as a simple 'tom-tom' sound (the first sound I play in this video). Despite its cheesy historical use, the Synare actually a beastly little analog synth with two oscillators (with noise and LFO modes respectively), a self oscilating low-pass filter, and envelopes for filter and volume. I only scratch the surface in this video.
WerkBench is a tool for crafting rhythmic loops from any source material in real-time. WerkBench is great for grabbing sounds on the fly from analog synths that lack patch memory (like the Synare, Monotron, or any modular rig).
About the Synare:
