Steady State Fate PTGsoundcheck

Published on Nov 1, 2012 by SteadyStateFate

"Just a short (blurry) test video to check the recording levels of my new camera.
Features the Positronic Transient Gate (PTG) prototype in black. The PTG is working as a VCA with the Synchrodyne VCO as an input. The Left Side main input of the PTG is being triggered by the X-series SUB and the DAMP parameter is modulated by the X-series Sine.
The PTG VCA output is processed through the DMF-2.
The PTG Left Side main input is normaled to the Right Side main input, which is creating the envelope controlling the DMF-2 cutoff frequency. Finally, the PTG Right Side DAMP parameter is modulated by the X-series Triangle. Knobs are wiggled."

ArdCore NoiseRing

Published on Nov 1, 2012 by chisel316

"I programmed a simple emulation of the Wiard NoiseRing on my Snazzy FX ArdCore. It supports the chance and change controls and outputs an 8-bit shift register based on the specs here: http://mamonu.weebly.com/wiard-noisering.html. It's clocked by a square LFO from the Kraftzwerg. The output CV is sent into the VCO on the Kraftzwerg. The output trigger is sent into the envelope gate input on the Kraftzwerg. I don't have a real NoiseRing to compare it to, but it's fun to play with regardless. Hope you enjoy it!

"An electro-esque piece created entirely using only a Dave Smith Instruments "MoPho" analogue synth & Logic sequencer. A few of Logic's own effects were added to the samples."

Sunbutler (Album Snips) - All DX7 Release

Sunbutler (Album Snips) by Ben Butler & Mousepad

All of the musical parts for the backing, using 5 basic sounds per track, are from one Yamaha DX7.

"Snips from the new record by Momus & Joe Howe (Sunbutler).
Released on American Patchwork / Darla.

The Sunbutler album is a collaboration between two Scots of different generations living on different continents. Joe Howe and Momus worked together before, making the Joemus album in Berlin in 2008. Whereas Joe’s main musical project back then was the itchy, glitchy Germlin, in 2012 he composes and performs as Ben Butler & Mousepad, making an infectious hand-played funk that references Max Tundra, Herbie Hancock and YMO. Restricting himself to just five basic sounds on an old FM synth, Joe made backing tracks in his Glasgow studio which Momus in Osaka then warped into disjointed funk songs, emphasising the genre’s sleaziness in an 80s-retro way that recalls Prince at his most dirty-minded, the glittering deconstructions of Scritti Politti, and Momus albums like 1989’s Don’t Stop The Night. The results are funny, catchy, and disturbingly infectious.
Released by: American Patchwork
Release/catalogue number: AMPATCH012-3 "

Video for the Track "SRGMO" from the E.P. "a sucker for random".

"Produced analog with a synchronator, hssji, korg entrancer and an old panasonic video mixer.

All tracks are based on underlying drumtracks programmed with analog drummachines. In contrast to the drumlines, the synths are driven by numerous random voltage techniques, using a Buchla Source of Uncertainty, Serge SSGs, Ciat Lombarde gear and a Serge TKB. More randomness was created by crossmodulating sources. E.g.: The SSG used the respective drum machine noise as source for the S&H.

Tracks were not arranged, but recorded as multitrack and then mixed/muted later on an analogue desk.

Giles Reaves: Space Music Improv on the Synapse Antidote Synthesizer

Published on Nov 1, 2012 by SeligVideos

"Giles Reaves: Space Music Improv on the Synapse Antidote Synthesizer. Testing my new Nikon D600, and the new Synthesizer from Synapse Audio: Antidote (for Reason 6.5). I created the patch from scratch in real time, as shown in the video. To keep in the "space music" theme, I used my night time time lapse footage from a recent trip through Southern Utah and Northern Arizona (including shots at Arcosanti, AZ)."
