"Once again, me messing around with the a prototype of the new Division 6 eurorack version of George Mattson's SQ816 sequencer. This one is quick, a single patch I liked that I wanted to share."

Update: behind the scenes:

"Probably most interesting was NO EGs or VCAs! The two MOTM-300 VCOs used were run through the new Happy Nerding Fun VCF and then out to the final mixer and panned in stereo. The three gate outputs I patched in were all routed to a Synthesizers.com Q961 Sequencer Interface (the first two to column A and the third to column By adding a longer "on time" to column B, combined with the Modcan 59B delay being relatively synced to the SQ816 (a Modcan 53B was the master clock with the slower subdivision going to the delay tempo sync) a pretty nice little syncopation emerged."

"The last overdub on the piece recorded and "filmed" live in the studio. modules in use include the DDVCO from SSL, Sea Devils filter from STG, ring mod from Krisp1. The DDVO is getting some FM action from the DotCom oscillator. The whole patch is fed to the El Capistan tape echo pedal. Some secret devices are off camera."

We have received numerous requests from musicians and composers to develop a replacement for Yamaha's breath controller BC3A.

The result is the MIDI Breath Controller, which has the same function as a combination of the BC3A and the "MIDI solution" converter box but with a USB interface instead of the older standard DIN connector.

The MIDI Breath Controller uses a novel signal processing algorithm to transform the breath pressure signal to MIDI cc messages that let you add realistic expression to your performance. This is extremely useful for live performance with synthesizers and DAW's. It gives you excellent control of pitch, expression, velocity cross-fade etc... of soft synths and sample libraries

BugBrand News - Update on PEQ, Hiatus on Modular Front

"Last night I added the second (& potentially final) batch of PEQs to the online store.

No one noticed yet!
So here is the link

Will I make further batches? I don't know.. I guess I need feedback from people. If these sell and then there's ongoing demand, maybe.. (though knob sourcing is currently busting my balls)

In other news:
- brief mention for now that I'm taking a pause on the modular front for the coming months - in theory that may mean more 'general' designs.

- I've begun releasing a few details on the coming-quite-soon new version PT Delay - it is still at least a month off but I am pretty excited already - production is starting to roll..

-- the aim here is for more regular production - SMD parts are being stuffed and future runs may well have further build steps out-sourced (I want to investigate these areas - but for the first batch I will be putting the hardware on by hand & doing the assembling in the usual Bristol setup)

That's about it - mainly at the moment I am in focus and tidy-up modes - trying to push particular new projects alongside tidy & settle from several years of hectic! Not much in the way of shows for now + gradually sorting through hours & hours of recordings from the past years..
