Reaktor Tutorial: Additive Synthesis

Reaktor Tutorial: Additive Synthesis from FlipMu on Vimeo.
"This tutorial looks at using the Sine Bank Module in Reaktor to build basic waves such as Saw, Sqr, and Tri. We also talk about using the very powerful "Iteration" module to calculate all the partials as fast as possible, and briefly discuss the idea of Anti-Aliased Oscillators."

"Various sound sources in this one. Got field recordings of trains and cars and some samples from a religious tape running on the 4-track cassette. Drums from the MPC and Vermona DRM-1. The sub-bass is a 606 kick pitched down and compressed on the MPC. Got some bird sounds I recorded in the forest looping on the MPC too. Juno-106 doing the chords of course. The monotribe is filtering some noise from the 4-track for a nice pumping effect. Recorded to cassette on a Nakamichi LX-5."

"The unit was made in September 1989 in USSR at well-known Soviet factory "Moscow", which was famous for producing very qualitative professional studio | concert equipment.
Its flagship "RC-02" signal processor was highly sought-after for versatile functionality & amazing sound. The device has solid construction of a rack size.

The item has great pitch modulation function. ELEKTRONIKA RC-02 signal processor produces sound that differs from well-known western processor brands & can easily compete by its sound quality with any.
Unit sounds really fantastic and unusual - very wide and clean set of effects like delay | reverb | flanger | chorus.

Front panel controls:
- Input volume;
- Delay matrix (2 rows, 5 positions each - ms x multiplier), Delay
- Repeat button (no fixation);
- Modulation (Frequency | ON | Depth);
- Output: Mixer (Dry, Wet), Level
- Power On | Off

Back panel: Input, Output (old soviet 5PIN outs were replaced with 1/4" jacks)

Werkbench 2.0 is here!

Published on Mar 12, 2013

"Available now in the app store.

We also have a simpler phone version if you don't have an iPad.

More details on the Werkbench site:
http://www.bolasol.com/werkbench"

"Werkbench 2.0.0 has arrived for the iPad and there are some significant new features and improvements:

::Sampling::

Everyone has been waiting for Audiobus support. Ta-daa!

There is a new file player / importer that supports Audio Paste and iTunes sharing (.wav). You can sample directly from the player as if it were an input.

Overdub option to layer incoming samples.

::Flexible Sequencer::

You can now chain sequences and set pattern lengths on the fly for each side independently. Sequences can be anywhere from 1 - 128 steps long in total!

Copy patterns to other slots by dragging.

::Dub Echo::

We revised the echo. It sounds sweet. You have control over feedback and mix separately. Safe to say that it is now a full-on magic dub weapon.

::Step Editing::

Echo send for each step so you can keep your bass drums dry. Expect more step editing options in future 2.x updates!

Hope everyone enjoys playing with it as much as we have."

Jörg Schaaf Live at Synthesizermesse Hamburg/Just music

Uploaded on Nov 2, 2009 Jörg Schaaf·21 videos

"Andreas Tofahrn (http://www.tofahrn-foto.de) was so kind taking some moving pictures from my Spectralis 2 live performance in Hamburg. Thanks to Jan Lüthje (Just Music Hamburg) for organisation and catering.
All other songs of my live performance are already covered in other videos here at youtube. So, this is only a small excerpt of the whole concert. I used the skip function of the Spectralis step sequencer for some variations of the tonal sequence. The lighting of the stage was a little bit clumsy so I added some even more clumsy video effects;-)

"Corridors of Time 5" - (Instrumental)

Published on Mar 12, 2013 TimeSynthis·38 videos

"2 Bar sequence in 5/4 driving a MFOS (Music From Outer Space) Sound Lab 1. Mostly using 1 oscillator, the 2nd Oscillator is brought in at places. Settings used are shown in pictures. Using primarily the release knob in AR to do the rhythmic permutations. Also slight filter adjustments throughout, never more than 1/4 open. Noise is used to put the reed like whistle into the extended notes. During that section, the 2nd Oscillator level is introduced, this being modulated in the low range of the high speed LFO instead of the AR envelope.
Rhythmic modulation done with the AR envelope Release and level. An Angelic pad to lift you out of this fractal microtonal world at the end. Sonic percussion and pad played on Ensoniq SD-1 32."
