"Up for sale is our gently used Folktek Impressionist Drumscape. It's a synth, a drum machine, a drone machine, it's chaotic, it's everything! These are all hand-built using reclaimed parts, so no two are alike and not all parts used in the making of these are new, so there are slight cosmetic flaws inherent in the design of these units..."

The Undulating Noise Machine

Published on Apr 26, 2013

"The undulating noise machine comes with 2 modules. A player which loops samples of white, pink and brown noise (the sound at the same speed as the resting human heart rate (60 bpm) ). The second module allows you to create an ambience by adding effects and rhythmic motions by simply drawing a motion on the dedicated pad. Unfortunately, there is no record feature, despite this I will rate it as a Killer App, because of its great UI and for the fun that you have in creating an ambience."

"The undulating noise machine provides you with perfect looping samples of white, pink and brown noise used by people looking to sleep and dream; but then it goes two steps beyond.

In the first step beyond it can play back motions in the sound at the same speed as the resting human heart rate (60 bpm) in order to lull you into rest with shaped white noise.

The second step beyond is to give you a shaping machine which allows you to produce those rhythmic motions yourself. There is a drum/metronome option that plays at 60 bpm to help you get the motions at the right pace.

There are online help videos provided that also go into some of the aspects of self hypnosis ready to draw you into a calm state for dreaming."

Cumulus 2 - The Bridge (Glitzerstrahl)

Published on Apr 25, 2013 GlitzerstrahlMusic·6 videos

"Part two in the tentatively named Cumulus series. Based entirely on the modular synth, with the exception of the kick drum. This track continues to explore the theme of sound textures started with the Cumulus 1, but this time with a higher tempo.

The track was recorded in multiple layers with the Morphing Terrarium as the primary sound source, except for some guest play from time to time by the Bubblesound VCOs. Only reverb was added as an effect while mixing the layers. There are no other computer generated effects.

Of course, all layers where recorded as continues 'live' recordings, each track 'over dubbing' the previous ones. The video was recorded in separate takes for each layer, and since all I have is a web camera and iMovie the results are... not exactly stellar. But at least it gives you some pretty light to look at as an excuse to listen to the track! ;-P Not all of the layers where filmed so if you are trying to match up knob-wiggling with actual sound it wont exactly match all the time :).

Modules are from Doepfer, XAOC Devices, Synthesis Technology, Bubblesound, TipTop Audio, Pittsburgh Modular and 4ms."

Cumulus 1 - The Engine Room [Complete] (Glitzerstrahl)

Published on Feb 18, 2013

"This is the full version of the track Cumulus 1 - The Engine Room. This track was made entirely with my modular synth, using modules from Doepfer, XAOC Devices, Bubblesound, TipTop Audio, Pittsburgh Modular and 4ms.

The main objective of this track was to explore the various sounds and workflows that my modular offers. The sequencing and clock for all layers comes from a XAOC Moskwa, and some of the more rhythmic patterns were made using the 4ms Pingable Envelope Generator. There is no external clock or MIDI involved.

I'm sorry that the video is not 100% in sync all the time, each layer was recorded separately and I do not have a multitrack video editing software at hand so matching them up was a little tricky.

Anyways, hope you like it."
