The Blackdeath (created by Martin House in the UK) plague synth is one mean little machine, this is the Wormcode edition (#1 of 20) and here are some observational notes from my brief tenure with the beast so far.

The Blackdeath takes quite some time to harness and tame to find the sweet spots for what you want it to do. The unit can get crazy out of hand really fast and often it is quite difficult to get back to where you were if you have adjusted several of the pot shaft controls. Moves with the shafts (I would say knobs, but it does not have them) are very, very minute as you will see in the video, small moves make big changes. Very curious unit, often out of control and just spitting out harsh noise, I cannot decide if I love this thing or am getting frustrated with it. You decide if it is best for your tastes and needs. The Blackdeath has some delay added to it at the mixer but other than that this is just two units getting down and brutal together un-effected and raw. Live recording as it happened, would never be able to re-create this jam again.

"Was made in July 1988 by Riga`s Music Instruments Factory (RMIF). Elsita has four independent and identical channels of analog drum synthesis that can produce really fat and original analog drum sounds. You can trigger it from drum pads (triggers) or from any audio out - drum machine, analog output of soundcard etc. As other soviet devices Elsita has it`s own unique character that will be great for any sound design experiments!

No question, this set is the biggest sounding single vintage Oberheim SEM module ever, because beside of original 2 oscillators of the Vintage SEM module, you have on top 4 more SUB OSCILLATORS !
With this special construction, this Oberheim SEM module, sound wise works like 4 Voice version . With additional Sub Oscillators, you are able to make the biggest bass and lead sounds ever. No any single new or vintage SEM module on the market or on ebay can sound like this one due to in built sub oscillators.

Expander module has all of the cv controls of SEM module. With 35 connections on the expander panel, SEM works like a modular system . Patching everything into everything freely , will make your work more fascinating that a normal SEM module, with this way the sound creation is limitless. All the oscillators are perfectly tuned. All the knobs and switches works perfectly.

DSI Tempest 1983

"Here is a new video featuring the DSI Tempest. This is the first of two videos were I recorded the Tempest 6 individual outputs live in one take into Logic and then afterwards mixed it.

I recorded the DSI Tempest 6 individual outputs straight into the UAD Apollo sound card in one take. Then I played 2 overdubs on the Tempest pads with polyphonic synth sounds.
The reverb, EQ and compressor are from the UAD Apollo and recorded live at the same time. Then some mixing/mastring in Logic. All synth sounds made by DreamProbe.
