Schober Tunesmith Analog Synthesizer & 1968 Dynabeat Rhythm Machine

via this auction

"For Sale 1969 Schober Tunesmith , Made in USA New York VERY RARE , this is monophonic analog instrument , it can be combine with analog modular systems. Instrument works good , all keys are fine , nothing broken , instrument needs tuning it is 43 years old after all..."

PDF scans below and linked at the auction. This appears to be a DIY organ synth.  This is the first post to feature Schober.  I couldn't find a demo for it on YouTube, but I did find the following demo for the Dynabeat. I'm curious if any of the synthy organ sounds in the video are the Tunesmith. More pics of the Tunesmith below.

Two low frequency oscillators (LFO) with selectable wave type (saw, square, noise and sine) and selectable frequency/rate and depth. LFO1 modulates VCO1 frequency while LFO2 modulates VCF cutoff frequency. LFO’s synchronise to MIDI/sequencer tempo at 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 notes.
One VCA with fully customizable ADSR(A) envelope.

"The project is based on the use of the so-called cellular automata as a starting point for the creation of audio and video images in real time. Despite cellular automata have been used in algorithmic art for some years, whether that be music or genres associated with visual images, their huge potential as systems that allow most visually feel the power of the meaning of of the postulate “< = >” (less means more), in my opinion, still remain not fully uncovered..."

Boxed Ear OSCar Kontakt Sample Pack Released

"Boxed Ear is proud to present OSCar Kontakt Sample pack.

Boxed Ear has announced the release of OSCar, a new library for Kontakt 4 and 5 made entirely with the OSC OSCar synthesizer.

Released in 1983 by the Oxford Synthesizer Company, the OSCar was a unique combination of analog and digital. The oscillators are a digital design with the capability of being able to build waveforms using additive synthesis. These feed into an analogue multi-mode filter design which was inspired by the Minimoog trick of looping the synths output back into the filter's input to overdrive the filter circuits, resulting in a characteristically crunchy sound.

Included in the pack are 119 Kontakt instruments which cover a wide range of synth sounds, both monophonic and polyphonic: tough basses, gorgeous evolving pads, complex leads and a host of other synth sounds all stamped with the OSCar’s unique sound.
Details:
1.1Gb soundset
Over 2300 samples at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz quality
119 Kontakt instruments

Availability and pricing
OSCar costs USD $49, EUR €39 or GBP £30 inc.VAT and is available now from the Boxed Ear website.

Full version of Kontakt 4 or 5 is required. OSCar does NOT work with the free Kontakt Player."
