"10 tablets randomly and independently process, in real time, a small set of piano samples. The output of each device, taken individually, has no meaning nor purpose. But just as the erratic trajectories of midges in a swarm cancel each other out to form a coherent cloud, the sum of sounds in Music in the Room ( Sharjah ) reveals the boundaries of chance.

It is the evolution of these boundaries that results in the illusion of purpose - the impression of music.

Form from limits, meaning from the multitude.

Sounds can also be triggered via trigger inputs, there's a range of preset patterns for the hi-hats and a pedal for the kick drum. Separate outs and preset pots on the rear allowing you to adjust pitch/decay etc."
