Mutable Instruments Braids Walkthrough

Braids walkthrough from Ben Kessler on Vimeo.

"(mostly) Raw sounds from Mutable Instruments' excellent Braids module. Future Retro Mobius is used to convert MIDI to CV, Virus Redback used mainly for enveloped amplifier (filter used where noted). Intro/outro are 3 tracks of raw Braids. Everything else is 1. No additional effects were used. Braids has 33 waveform synthesis models, each with controls for timbre and color. Most are covered here. Braids also has a few settings to make it sound more analog...for this demo, the unique-to-each-module drift setting was turned on."

The Arturia Microbrute: MiniBrute + MicroBrute

Published on Jan 29, 2014 AutomaticGainsay·194 videos

"Here is a description of some of the functionality associated with the connection of the Arturia MicroBrute to the Arturia MiniBrute: which results in a very powerful duophonic analog synthesizer.

For all of you who are inclined to respond "LESS TALK, MORE PLAYING!" In this particular instance, I agree. I really need to do a lot of "sounds of" videos of this combination to make up for it."

All parts here.

NAMM 2014 Vibanet review by Robbie Gennet for Keyboard Magazine

Published on Jan 29, 2014 keyboardmag1·382 videos

"Keyboard's own Robbie Gennet sits down for a test of the new Vintage Vibe Vibanet, an update on the Hohner Clavinet. Robbie has played Clavinet for almost 2 decades with his band Rudy and knows the ins and outs of the instrument. Having his hands on a real Clavinet for so long qualifies Robbie for the comparison test and we are happy to say the Vibanet passed with flying colors! Find out more about Rudy at www.rudymusic.com"

Note this is the first Vintage Vibe post.

"This is the 'Lawsuit' model with the Moog ladder filter which Roland had to remove on later models. Comes complete with its original handbook and smoked acrylic music rest - these are usually missing. It's in good clean working order and sounds superb..."

Super Synthesis ph01 Knob Recorder Eurorack Knob Recorder

"the phraser, or ph01 for short, is a knob recorder. it records a dc voltage (via the dc pot and record button) into a loop, and outputs that movement as a 0v-5v control voltage (and displays the output via the led). the rate knob adjusts the playback speed (or loop length, however you want to think about it.) the record button overwrites whatever is in the loop with the current position of the dc pot, allowing for complex sequences with just a little clicking and twiddling. loop length goes from ~18 seconds to over 500hz.

it can be used as a:
voltage sequencer
programmable lfo
gate/trigger source.
static control voltage
clock
drone oscillator
the phraser is, in essence, a knob that keeps turning after you've let go."
