Published on Feb 17, 2014 PanzerLyu·6 videos

"A quick monday night jam session, before going to sleep.
The star of the night is the tiny noisy Korg Monotron Delay.
The Kaossilator 2 provides for the bass line and drum.
special guest : Steel Jeeg by Go Nagai :-) (Kōtetsu Jeeg in Japan), who is trying to stop this noisy stuff with his powers.
Who's going to win?

as usual, no daw , no overdubbing

if you like, leave a comment"

The Benjolin Workshop (Manchester UK – 30th March 2014)

"Open-Circuit is pleased to announce a day of Circuit Bending & DIY Analog Electronics…

In a one-day workshop conducted by legendary synth builder Rob Hordijk and circuit bender Joker Nies, participants will build the Benjolin, an analog sound-device that is different from what you usually find with other DIY-kits. This kit will ONLY be available through the workshop, it is not for sale separately. You will take home an analog synth, and you can tell everyone that you`ve built it yourself!

The Benjolin is a ‘noise box’ that is ‘bent by design’, meaning that it always has a definite amount of unpredictability while it is still intuitive to play. The Benjolin features two eighteen-octave range voltage controlled oscillators that drive a ‘rungler’ circuit, circuitry that in essence uses a special interference technique feeding back into the oscillators to force them into wild chaotic behavior. A special slightly chaotic filter with a unique topology that imparts a layer of all harmonic distortion to the filter outputs is both excited and modulated by the signals from the rungler circuitry, producing sounds between fat drones to grungy noise havoc. The kit is somewhat challenging to build, but with a little patience and accuracy a beginner in DIY can definitely do it successfully.

Rob Hordijk’s benjolin circuit is really like no other synth/noisemaker out there.

Spaces are limited so we are asking for a £50 deposit to ensure a place with the remaining £80 to be paid on the day…. Please follow the link for more info and to reserve a space.

This video shows the soon to be released telePort Control App in its iPhone form.
On the side the iPad version is also running - which will be the focus point of the upcoming release video - but the focus here is on using the phone as
a controller for an instrumentalist doing live looping music with telePort.

Earlier videos have focused much more on the live sequencing (synth) ways of using telePort. This video tries to show how that way can meet with this way, and hints at that there's really no reason why only One person should be playing with a computer running telePort at a time :)
A ridiculous 16 iOS devices can be connected to a single computer running telePort, and they will each and all show what is being done on any one of them.

telePort is a live performance oriented music program that will shortly be made available in its next level prototype form for Mac and Windows - along with the Universal App.
It lets you integrate hardware and software instruments as one advanced combined, programmable and morphable instrument.
Bringing a modular approach to (augmented) sequencing and mixing while at the same making it easy switching between completely different songs/tracks, or changing the modules up independently as the music is playing.
The goal being creating a very flexible music system where you can have a whole set, not just a song, at your fingertips and improvise or play structured parts based on rules you define freely."
