Alesis Bitrman Studio Effects Unit Ring Mod/Bit Reduction/Modulation/Frequency

"The Bitrman is an extraordinary effects box comprised of compression, distortion, dual phasing, and a 4th selected effect that can either be a comb, decimator, bit reducer, frequency modulator, ring modulator, or frequency shift. The 4 effects can be configured multiple ways by adjusting the 'Configure' parameter...

This unit, like the rest of the series was designed with internal 28-bit digital processing — allows you to connect to multiple units with others via the link ports (in and out) located on either side of each box. These links allow the units to pass digital audio, word clock, and power between ModFX line family members. Analog I/O is provided via 4 separate 1/4 in. unbalanced connectors. So, the cool thing is that both the Bitrman and the Metavox can be plugged directly into one another to get some crazy effects!"

Alesis Metavox Studio Effects Processor Unit Vocoder

"These are very rare to come by these days and have been a little known secret for music producers. No longer manufacturers this is your chance to get your hands on this very versatile and one of the best sounding vocoders out there. Small enough to sit neatly in your studio or even as a foot pedal in your gigs, there is a lot of tweak age available at your finger tips.

This unit is a vocoder where the user can choose 4 different types of internal synthesizers (Saw, Rectified Saw, Square, and Noise). The synthesizer is modulated by one of 5 sources (triangle, sample and hold, triggered, "uncertainty," and tracking) that can all be beat synchronized with the aid of the "Beat Tap" button. There's also a control that allows for setting the frequency of the internal synthesizer. Another great feature of Metavox is that it also allows an external synthesis source to be input and voice-modulated."

A video overview from back in 2007.

"A brief demo of the Plan B Model 28 Programmable Tap Clock and it's use in a couple basic patches.

http://felixinferious.blogspot.com/

Addendum from Peter @ Plan B:

Regarding the separate START/STOP inputs:
Doing it with two inputs instead of one is a flashback from my Buchla days. My feeling it's better this way as you can if you wish use separate signals to start and stop the counting. This way you could for instance use a keyboard trigger to start it, which would also be used to start a sequencer and reset that seq to stage 1. Then you could use the gate output of let's say stage eight of that sequencer to stop the M28. This way you can get repeated eight beat phrases from the 28 which would begin on the depression of a keyboard. It would be much harder to do that with a single start/stop input.

Blue Lantern Analog Synth Filter Workstation - SSM2164 Mankato Based

"Extremely rare (one of several), early Blue Lantern handywork. Versatile desktop modular filter / synth box with numerous control and input/output options. Great for the sound scientists, much experimenting can be done here with the patchbay and connectivity/option switches with making sounds with the unit by itself (it will self-oscillate producing a very clean sine wave), in combination with your analog and modular setup, and also as a filter effect and CV source (EG & LFO outs). An excellent versatile sounding filter with switchable 12dB, 18dB, and 24dB slopes (big red knob), and it has an onboard Envelope Generator (Attack & Release) and LFO for modulation (with their own outputs), plus 2 inputs with preamps (gain and level controls). One input can be routed after the preamp and sent out the Extreme FM output also. More info on the ins, outs, and function are pasted below. This thing has that thick raw big analog filter sound to beef up your tones, create it's own tone, and provides modulation sources for other gear.

It's a very unique box and the filter is not readily available and requires building it yourself or having stg soundlabs build a module for you, which runs for $395...
