Oscilloscope + Modular Synth Demo

Gear used in this video:
- Anyware Tinysizer Modular Synthesizer
- Hameg HM 203-5 Oscilloscope with X & Y inputs

The Tinysizer's modular synth modules are connected directly to the Hameg Oscilloscope's X and Y inputs. Like this I can move the oscilloscope beam in two dimensions using the fluctuating voltages from LFOs, smoothed by a Low Pass Filter. You should experiment with this freely, as there are lots of other cool shapes to be made, by combining different modules. Of course this works with any kind of modular synthesizer, for example a Eurorack Modular Synth.

It is a big bold awesome early 1970's unit. It has 2 stylus to play the keyboard with that lock into spots above the keyboard when not in use. The 350S has a 1/4" Input, 1/4" Output, 1/4" Expression Pedal In and a Built In Optical Speaker to play without an amp. The Stylophone 350S comes equipt with one of the earliest examples of a light sensitive photocell where you can manually control the wah/vibrato by cupping your hand and controlling the amount of light that enters giving you great expression control while you are playing it. Bob Moog Signed Polymoog Synthesizer SN 4070

via the seller: "For sale is a used Moog Polymoog Synthesizer model for repair. I have owned this Polymoog for about 15 years now and I have made a few repairs to it but I have finally decided to let it go to someone who has the time and money to get it working properly. Here is what I have done: Recapped power supply, new keyboard bushings, new lower power LEDs, divider IC replaced. This unit powers on but still needs work to play like it should so it's being sold as-is for repair. I don't know the extent of the repairs needed but all boards and parts are present so it should be repairable. The overall physical shape of the synth is good for an item manufactured in 1979. I tried to take some close up pictures that show the various imperfections.

Another interesting thing about this particular unit is that there is a 'Bob Moog' signature on the top. I don't believe I know of a signature series of Polymoogs when they were produced so correct me if I'm wrong. The signature was there when I bought it 15 years ago so I did not witness him signing it. It appears to match his signature that can be seen on the Moog website. This signature alone could make this a truly special Polymoog!"

"The R-55 is essentially one of the VCOs in the legendary S-1000 Wretch Machine in a 22U Eurorack module. It produces the notorious “sharkfin” sawtooth waveform of thyratron VCOs, replete with the weird pitch variations and apparent “noisiness” of a thyratron oscillator. Turn up the overdrive control, and the oscillator output clips the output amplifier pentode tube, for a unique soft-clipped square-wave sound. The simplicity of the R-55 will fool you--its behavior is erratic and weird, it always sounds “broken”, and the waveform is “deviated” in every way. You don't even need to feed it Hz/v CV: just run a square-wave or pulse signal from a conventional VCO into a pitch CV input, and it will “force” the R-55 to track along with the other VCO. CV response: Hz/v, giving about 1.5 octaves of usable range with a Kenton Pro-Solo MIDI/CV. Span and offset trimpots on front panel, adjustable to make the R-55 track roughly along with the Metasonix R-54 Supermodule, or with other Hz/v VCOs. Maximum pitch range, 60 Hz to more than 3 kHz (approximate), range with CV typ. 2.5 octaves maximum. Octave switch raises pitch range about 2 octaves..."
