Drum Machine - XOXX Composer

Drum Machine - XOXX Composer from Axel Bluhme on Vimeo.

A drum machine that is fun and easy to use

This project started with a curiosity to understand when, why and how people take their first steps into producing music. The goal is to inspire and allow this exploration even though there might be lack of confidence or knowledge.

A tangible sound arranger that uses magnets to activate sound samples and that is very easy to engage with. Capture sounds from your surroundings or sample records, simply let curiosity and creativity lead the way to quickly create unique beats.

The physical interface is made up from eight rotating discs allowing the user to layer up to eight different sounds.

Each set of eight discs are colour coded and each individual disc in the set has its own pattern so as to allow the user to create their own mental system and means of organising their sounds.

Every disc is quantised into four bars, which is indicated by the coloured lines on their faces, and each bar is divided into four steps. That means every disc has sixteen steps which allows the user to explore a variety of different music styles and degrees of complexity."

Yamaha CS30 noodling

Published on Mar 28, 2015 Magnus Gladén

"Just noodling around with the Yamaha CS-30. I'm using the built in step sequencer and doing some FM modulation of the filters. Very advanced stuff in such a small synth. (for its age) :D"

I created a new channel label for K-Tronik. You'll find two previous posts on circuit bent Speak & Spell products by K-Tronik. I'm guessing this has the internals of one. The following is the description from the listing:

"Prototype electronic instrument housed in an elegant classic computer eggshell white and iridescent glam finished studio friendly desktop style case.
The power switch has three settings: ON, OFF, ON with psychedelic LED light show!
...Exotic electronic spice for the mix..."

Sounds for the Mono Evolver Keyboard - Carlo Mezzanotte

Published on Mar 18, 2015 carlomezz

"I was asked to do a series of short instructional video clips to demonstrate synth programming to a non-specialized audience. After these videos were delivered, I took some of them, edited out the spoken parts in Italian, then I strung them together for a demo of my own sounds on the MEK. The main purpose of the original project was divulgation, so much of you'll hear will be melodic, linear sounds.... but you'll find some more complex sounds as well, especially in the second half of this video."
