David Lilja Double Challenge
Published on May 11, 2015 John L Rice
"This is for The Muff Wigglers group on Facebook. David Lilja posed the following modular synthesizer challenge
1) #NoMorePatchCables
You have to use all your cables and record the result.
2) #PatchWithoutPower
You have to patch with the modular turned off. Knobs tweaks are allowed while patching. Power on, don't touch and simply record your take. Modules which can't be tweaked while powered down, like the soundmachines, can be allowed to tweak when powered on.
I sped up the patching time and chopped some chunks out of it because the whole thing was about 30 minutes long long."

Yazoo - Situation (Live synth cover)
Published on May 6, 2015 Synt5
"This is our take on reconstructing the influential synthpop track Situation by Yazoo.
Every synth line was played live, with no computers involved and no syncing other than our ears :). The drums were reconstructed from scratch using Reaper, and then bounced to audio and imported to the Sp404. The only sample was the notorious Alison Moyet's laughter, as we were able to remake the "Move Out" choir with our own voices. The projection is Simian Mobile Disco's Put Your Hand Together video, we thought it would somehow match the song - and it really did.
Please forgive the grainy quality, the shaky cameras and the few mistakes, we were just having fun.
From left to right, gear list and synth players were:
Roland Juno Gi - João Marcos - Synth lead #1
Sequential Sixtrak, Sp404 - Guillermo Caceres - Bass
Korg Microkorg - Tchesco Oliveira - Rhythmic synth
Yamaha An1x - George Frederick - Main synth riffs
Clavia Nord Lead 2x - Raul Guimaraes - Synth lead #2
Vocals - Zeca Filho"

"Playing all presets of Roland JD-Xi -- Bank A. No tweaking. Just to give an overview of this machine. The display was tricking my camera so the color grading of the video is a quite dark to recover the least bit of readability -- sorry! Bank B will hopefully be better :-)"

feedback for rastko by Todd Barton
"I just stumbled onto this amazing Serge feedback patch by Rastko Lazic:

It is extremely volatile, expressive and wonderous. This is my humble homage to Rastko's genius -- recorded in a single pass in real time just using three knobs and Rastko's patch"
My 2012 Favorite Feedback Patch from Rastko Lazic on Vimeo.
"Again I discovered a new feedback path on the Serge synth.
This one is actually now my favorite one as it has a incredible range of sounds.
In the second part of the video I made a small patch where the main sound played by the TKB keyboard is actually the feedback patch.
I have used the Wave Folder and the Frequency shifter in a feedback loop controlled by a attenuator in between."
