Der analoge Bereich besteht aus vier Parts mit analogen Filtern und einem separaten Ausgang für den Analogsound ohne Effekte. Der digitale Bereich besitzt ebenfalls vier Parts auf Basis von Rolands SuperNATURAL-Klangerzeugung, umfangreiche Effekte und ist kompatibel zu den Klängen von Rolands Top-Soundmodul Integra-7. Beide Klangerzeugungen sind getrennt voneinander und bieten damit eine ideale Plattform für umfangreiches Sound Design – die Fragestellung „analog oder digital“ ist damit Vergangenheit: Die Zukunft liegt in beiden, im JD-XA."
