PreenFM 2 synthesizer Sound Demo

Published on May 7, 2016 jabberwalky

"This is a truly amazing FM synthesizer, for a really great price. It is above and beyond any other FM synth available, and bitch slaps the VolcaFM.

This was originally an in depth spec review of the PreenFM 2, but it was over 30 minutes long so I cut out all the talking and left the playing parts."

Ensoniq SQ-80 / ESQ-1 patch bank demo (80's sounds)

Published on May 7, 2016 synth-love

"This is a demo of some patches for the SQ-80 (and will likely work on the ESQ-1). I personally find the SQ-80 great for analog type sounds - these are a bit more typical 80's type sounds.

I don't know where these specific patches came from - they were preloaded on a ram cartridge I bought. I tried to keep the names in focus in case there is one you really like and would like to try to search various patch banks on the Internet for it.

Hopefully will serve as a nice demo of the general sound possibilities of the synth."

Phase Me In - Roland Boutique JX-03, JP-08, JU-06, Moog Mother 32 and Behringer Vintage Phaser

Published on May 7, 2016 Earmonkey Music

"My studio has been in somewhat of a disassembled state for several weeks. Trying to update my cables so I don't have a huge mess. Just got a new mixer that I have yet to integrate in. In the meantime, only the Boutiques and the Mother 32 are set up. Also, I got a Behringer Vintage Phaser for $25 new off Amazon. Of course I put the Mother 32 through it. Sounds pretty good. Adds swishy swashiness modulation that fits right in. Just a little jam here using all three Boutiques each on a different MIDI channel so I can switch between them on the Ensoniq EPS 16+."

Are Friends Digital ?

Published on May 6, 2016 100 Things I Do

"Digital get such a bad wrap at the moment, in dark moments of analog synth lust I think of selling these two synths ..... but I never seem to be able to part with them!

JD 800 & D50 (with a hint of tb 3 thrown in). Like a lot of synthaddicts I tend to use a lot of analogue gear. As a change I did this quick noodle to draw some inspiration from my digital side of the studio."
