Moogfest and Art Of Cool are offerering a limited edition DURM Flex Pass available November 14 - December 5, while supplies last.

Syncing Akai Tomcat with Korg Volcas and Monotribe, analog synth and drum machine jam Bass Keys FM

"The Akai Tomcat is an analog drum machine with 5 different manipulative drum voices. I think it sounds great, and sites like Musicians Friend run 99 dollar deals on them from time to time. For an analog drum machine with pulse sync and midi input/output thats a heck of a deal.

This was a fun jam to make, with the intention of testing how well the Akai machine would play with my other favorite cost efficient analog boxes, the Korg Volcas. Happy to report not many issues, though you want to make sure you don't use a Monotribe or Volca Bass as your master unit. They don't have Tempo Note Value on their front ends, so you want to make sure you set your tempo value with a separate unit to keep those two from playing double time. The Tomcat Proved to be a great starting point, and made me realize with its midi output as well you can use it as a great brain for a lot of different types of jams.

"A demo of my ARP 2600 Semi Modular synthesizer, This is the newer 2601 model with the 3620 duophonic keyboard that was manufactured from 1977-81. I have owned this synthesizer since 1983 and have recently had it restored."

"It is in very good condition for it's age; all modules seem to be working as are both speakers and the built in reverb section. The case and tolex have some minor scratches and there is some oxidation on the corners of the cases, the type of normal wear and tear that you would expect of an instrument of this age. See the attached photos and video for details. The proprietary power cable and the attached keyboard connecting the keyboard to the synthesizer are included as well as the original covers for both the synthesizer and keyboard and .pdf files of the original ARP 2600 manual, Patch Book, and Service Manual."

"Mint condition technics sy 1010 analog synth, 100% original Japanese domestic model, works perfectly. A single VCO, LFO, VCF, ADSR, VCA mono synth with great routing, ala the moog micromoog, with a very similar filter. Suuuper fat, and so simple even an incredibly talented, beautiful, and above average child can play it. Enjoy!"

"Up for sale is KORG M-500SP Micro-Preset vintage analog synthesizer. One of the most earliest and rarest synths Korg produced in the '70s, M-500SP is M-500 with built-in speaker on the bottom of the unit.

The unit appears to be working reasonably well, all the keys and sliders and buttons worked fine when I tested. However I noticed some of the keys have unstable pitch which could do with some servicing/adjustment as there is also a slight scratch noise on a few of the knobs when controlling. The speaker is sounding fine..."
