Analog Rytm vs Tempest: Sound Design Comparison and Demo by Starsky Carr

Published on Mar 26, 2016 Starsky Carr

"I thought a users view of creating sounds on the Tempest and Analog Rytm might be useful to some folks..

There's lots of info about each in various reviews and forums, but if you can't get hands on experience it might be difficult to decide which is best for you.

Hopefully this will give an idea of how you go about making sounds and which suits your workflow and sound design best.

Hope it's useful."

DSI PRO 2 CLAP SYNTHESIS TUTORIAL ~ Synthesize This! Ep.04

Published on Dec 23, 2016 once upon a synth

"Let's try to synthesize a clap sound on the DSI Pro 2 synthesizer. Synthesizing a clap sound involves two pieces of noise delayed slightly apart and a carful dash of distortion. The clap sound is not as good as a sample but it has its own unique character. Towards the end of the video you can hear the Pro 2's clap in context with a drum beat from the Korg Volca Beats.

Dr. Scientist Bitquest Demo

Published on Dec 23, 2016 Perfect Circuit Audio

This one is a little bit on the guitar side of the fence, but there are some some synth effects. Perfect Circuit Audio is also a sponsor of the site. Be sure to see the note below, on Perfect Circuit discounts for supporting members of MATRIXSYNTH.

"The Bitquest from Dr. Scientist is a digital multi-effect pedal that is able to play many different roles. It is complex but without any menus, letting each complex element be directly controlled with knobs on the pedal. The Bitquest is made for adventure, leading one into new sonic territories not previously considered. Eight different digital effects are selectable through a rotary switch. They include such effects as Flanger, Filtering, Bit manipulation, reverb, notch filtering, ring modulation, Pitch shift, and glitch delay. Never has so many timbral characters been available in one compact pedal. The Bitquest is one for the journey."
