Cocoquantus - Ciat-Lonbarde

"Demoing 'QUANTUSSY (center part of the instrument)' part of Cocoquantus. I took a triangle out (orange) and square out (gray) to each coco (2 side part, the most left is mic input). So you're hearing two "petals" of QUANTUSSY into cocos. As you see, I'm not patching at all but the QUANTUSSY makes a fairly complex modulation within. The left knob I occasionally wiggle is master tune while the right knob is 'chaos(master modulation depth)'
Cocoquantus straight into Roland mobile cube, recorded by the phone (built-in mic)"

"This thing has actually been collecting dust for a while, so I decided to pull it out and give it another go. It has a really unique sound, due to the cheap, but ANALOG sound engine inside. The pads don't work so well, so I just focused on the programming. This was recorded strait into Logic with absolutely no pre or post processing, so this is the true sound of it."

Update: Re-Published on Mar 24, 2017 CLASSIC VINTAGE
"The Prophet 12’s brand new hybrid voice has a digital front end followed by an all analog signal path output. Each voice has four high resolution digital oscillators (plus a sub oscillator), a digital character effects section, a resonant Curtis low-pass filter, a high-pass filter, a tune-able feedback circuit, a four-tap delay line with feedback per line, four loopable five-stage envelope generators, four syncable LFOs with slew and phase offset, a sophisticated arpeggiator, and a sixteen slot modulation matrix with 26 mod sources and 97 modulation destinations. The Prophet 12 is packed with a plethora of sonic potential and power!"

Optigan Recordings by Johnny Largo
Published on Mar 22, 2017 optigandotcom
"These are demo recordings of the Optigan made by in-house musical director Johnny Largo (aka Johnny La Padula - see http://optigan.com/info/optigan/emplo...). Much of this material has not previously been heard, having languished on the original studio master tapes for 45 years. This will give a good sense of what the Optigan can sound like in the hands of a true professional, as well as serve as a general demonstration for the various discs. Sorry, I don't have recordings of Johnny demonstrating every last disc that was released, but I've posted what I do have."
Such a trip. For those not familiar with the Optigan it was like an optical record version of the Mellotron. The discs were like large clear flexi-disc with waveforms drawn on them. The Optigon would then play the waveforms as you played its keyboard. The Optigan was released in 1971. You can find previous posts on the Optigan via the label below, and of course you can find a ton of info on http://optigan.com.
