DX5 playing Depeche Mode "It's no Good" (Album vers)

DX5
Published on Aug 31, 2017

Gear:
Upper. Roland Promars MRS-2 (noise with LFO at a really hi speed)
Mid: Roland JP8000 (five different patches)
Lower: Access Virus TI & Kurzweil PC1x
Backtrack recorded on Pro Tools
An approximation to the album version with some variations. It is not easy to recreate the original atmosphere without sampling.
Recorded at the first shot, so there are a couple of wrong notes here and there.
Composed by Martin L. Gore.
Performed here by DX5 Jose Maria Bara

New Reckless Experimentation Clap Snare Eurorack Percussion Module

Reckless Experimentation Audio LLC
Published on Aug 31, 2017

via Reckless Experimentation

"Need some snap and crack added to your drum rack?
Don't want a lot of complicated controls?
Then this module is for you.

The module contains two independent percussion sound generating circuits.
Circuits are turned to produce sounds similar to a clap sound and snare drum.
Based on a self excited Bridged-T Filter, with digital white noise.
Takes 5 millisecond trigger pulse and outputs a drum sound."

"A version of the Minitmoog for budding synthesists from the early seventies. The Satellite is shaped after the organ-type synthesizers from its era. Although cased in a nice looking wood case the Satellite boasts little features. It's a single-vco monophonic preset synthesizer. Preset sounds include brass, reeds, strings, bell, and the far-out new lunar sound. The 37-note keyboard is slim and presets are selected from the clunky flip-switches just below the keyboard. Left hand performance controls offer modulation, pitch bend and filter sweeps. Great collector's item. It has been used by Vangelis."

"Working on a new improvised Space Music track, for a double vinyl compilation of electronic music - more soon.

Buchla 200e + Roland RE-301 tape delay + Eventide reverb. Oh yes, and the VCO is a prototype 258e!

Wanted to share a short 'sneak peek' of the process.

You can hear the tape swirling around :)

Cheers! - Djangosfire"

New Percussa SSP Granular Processor Pic & Kickstarter Reminder

The image to the left was added yesterday's post here. I thought I'd put a new post up to make sure no one missed it.

What you are seeing is the granular synth engine.  The dots on the screen represent the loaded sample, and the red section is the portion being heard and manipulated.  Per yesterday's post, you can find some demos of the granular engine here.

Update: some additional info via Percussa: "The section that is selected on the screen is the region from which grains are picked. The grains are then triggered at the rate set by the coarse/fine frequency. So it's not actually looping that region, in granular synthesis you generate small snippets of audio (50ms long for example) and then those are triggered at a certain rate and windowed and mixed together."

The image to the left links to the kickstarter campaign here.

Note there are only 3.5 days left for funding the stretch goals! You can find the Kickstarter campaign here.
