Korg Monologue 'Modulations & Resonances' by DreamsOfWires

Published on Apr 22, 2018 DreamsOfWires

"Korg Monologue sounds featuring the use of modulation on the resonance and oscillator waveforms using the LFO and slider control. If you delve into the synth's settings you can apply the slider control to various different functions; for example, here I'm using it to add more resonance in some sounds.
The synth seems to be quite good at creepy soundtrack stuff, hence the footage of gnarly, deserted old streets. The BBC Radiophonic Workshop would have probably used one in the 70's when their Odyssey or EMS broke down :P
This will be the last of my Monologue videos, which I recorded before I sold it. If in the future I win the lottery of find myself a rich Mommy, then I might pick up another, but for now I need all the money I can get for other gear.

Thank you to all of you who have purchased my music on Bandcamp, it is greatly appreciacted. I don't want to sound like a popular UK supermarket, but every little helps. 2 more releases are to follow as soon as I can find the time to finish them. More info on Facebook as and when.
P.S. I don't provide synth presets/patches, sorry. Also, I don't make 'how to' videos or do gear reviews, and I can't possibly recommend which instrument you should buy, as it's entirely subject to personal taste. I just make the music I enjoy, using instruments I like, and hope that others will either enjoy it or be inspired to create. Thanks for your understanding and for listening."

Per Wikipedia:

"KORG DS-10 is a music creation program for the Nintendo DS that emulates the Korg MS range of synthesizers. Frequently people refer to the Korg MS-10 but this is a single oscillator monosynth. The DS-10 adds sync which the MS-20 is lacking. It was released on July 24, 2008 in Japan, October 10, 2008 in Europe, and November 4, 2008 in the United States.[1]"

Rescue Poole

Published on Apr 21, 2018 davidryle

"Taking inspiration from a sonar rescue sequence in a 50 year old film.

The sliding ping sound (approaching the target) features the STG Soundlabs Envelope Generator and Sidecar module. I am using a slow LFO with a ramp wave to the T1 input which controls the delay of the envelope. There are three timed gates. One is from the source LFO which fires the envelope initially and makes the FM/Sync sound. The other two (low ping and high ping) are from the EG T1 and T4 stages. Panning is with a Q111 pan module from synthesizers.com.

The original film sounds are much less complicated and only two sounds are used to create the sonar effect. In this example I used three sounds but the idea is the same in general."

Synclaver V & Hardware Vintage Synclavier II

Published on Apr 21, 2018 100 Things I Do

"I have owned the hardware Synclavier II for a while now and what might surprise some people is that I also still use the Arturia Synclavier V. In some ways they can sound very much alike, in others they can be a very different beast.

I started to do a clip comparing the Synclavier V to the Vintage Synclavier II and ended up starting a track! So how do they sit together in a mix ? Pretty well actually.

I will get back to a direct comparison soon... well .. as soon as I can figure out how to do it without it turning into a flame war :D"

Behringer Roland System 100m Clones - Full Line-up of Modules & Details on Each

Follow-up to this post. Some additional details from Uli Behringer:

“These are 13 MID’s or concept documents we create for every single product as part of our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) process before we hand them over to our R&D departments for development,” he notes. “We haven’t decided yet which of these modules we will actually produce as it is important that we achieve a certain production volume.”

“This is just the beginning,” he adds. “Our Vision is to build both legacy modules but also come up with innovative solutions which we have demonstrated with the DeepMind or the Neutron.”

We are equally excited to cooperate with creative module makers and many have already contacted us. We believe that such co-operations are mutually beneficial and I am convinced that our efficient supply chain can help these makers to get their products into the hands of lots of people. We are looking forward to meeting as many designers as possible at SuperBooth.”
