"Monome's killer app - standalone, battery-powered hardware with community-driven scripts, apps etc. for use with MIDI controllers, Grid, or by itself. Worth it alone for the MLR sampler, tbh.
--- From monome:
changes. travels. is open to possibilities.
norns is many sound instruments. it connects to grids, MIDI and other objects. norns lets you define its behavior with scripts and DSP.
past. present. future. norns is many tomorrows.
WHAT IS IT REALLY?
norns is a small, portable sound computer that dynamically runs scripts and DSP, such as:
sample-cutter (using a grid, aka mlr)
polysynth (connect a MIDI keyboard)
algorithmic drum machine (MIDI CC-mapped)
drone box (no input)
granulator (controlled via OSC using a phone or tablet)
asynchronous looper (stompbox-style)
polyphasic sequencer (using a USB-CV interface to control modular synths)
these are just a few examples. scripts can be created or modified to completely alter the functionality of the system. we maintain a growing repository of scripts which means the machine will continue to have new possibilities.
norns is designed to be changed, encouraging customization and invention."

"This has been recently serviced, and all functions are 100% working. Every pot and switch has been cleaned and a few capacitors were replaced to make sure everything is ready to work without any quirks or issues.
This one has been used quite a bit in its life, and has been used on many recordings. It has such a unique character and sound to it, and is so fun to make sounds on. Everything you do on it gives you ideas- it's just one of those instruments that makes you want to create..."

Pics of the inside below.
"This unit was originally owned by composer Jim Johnson of the WWE. This sampler was used in Jim's studio for years making it onto many of his recordings. The Sequential Circuits Prophet 2002 is fully functional and in very good condition overall.
The Prophet 2000 was a sampler keyboard manufactured by Dave Smith's Sequential Circuits (SCI) and released in 1985. It was the company's first sampler, and, despite its low quality and technical limitations by modern standards, marked a shift toward affordable samplers of better quality than its predecessors. It is also considered to be one of the earliest multitimbral samplers.
The Prophet 2002, a rack-mounted version of the 2000, and the Studio 440, a drum machine and sequencer that used a similar sampler at its core. Intended to represent Sequential's first entry into the low-cost digital sampler market, the Prophet 2000 was equipped with 256kB sample memory (expandable to 512kB), and selectable sampling rates of 16, 32, and 42 kHz at 12-bit audio resolution. External storage was available through 3.5" diskettes. The Prophet 2000 featured MIDI (in, out, and thru), 8-voice polyphony, up to 8 layers, and an arpeggiator. Despite their technological limitations, early digital samplers like the Prophet 2000 are noted for their warm audio quality as a result of using analog VCFs and VCAs."

Roland TR-707 & TB-303 Walkthrough
Published on Dec 13, 2018 Alex Ball
"One final tutorial to round out this batch before I take a break. This time we're having a look at two classics; the Roland TR-707 and the Roland TB-303. This video gives you the basic principles to get started.
Along with the TR-727, TR-909, TR-808, SH-101 and MC-202, these machines played an integral part in dance music that emerged in the late 80s, most notably Acid and Techno...
Phuture "Acid Trax" from 1987
Armando "Land of Confusion" from 1988
Download samples from my TR-707 for free: http://bit.ly/TR707
There's also a great (and free) html emulation of the TR-303 if you can't access an original unit or clone: http://errozero.co.uk/acid-machine/
Thanks for watching!"
AJH Synth MiniMod Sample Hold & Slew // Everything you could want from S&H and more!
Published on Dec 13, 2018 DivKidVideo
"**TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS BELOW** Here's the wonderful Sample Hold & Slew from the MiniMod range by AJH Synth. It's really everything you could want from a sample hold as ... you also get track and hold, a great noise source with a clipping option and tonal/colour shift, a gated slew/glide/lag processor with slew time, linear or exponential slew shaping, options to slew up (rising) / down (falling) or both movements in voltages. The internal clock source is always present on the output even when clocking externally so when you slew that you have a handy shapeable bonus LFO. Last but not least there's a totally unique restrict feature that restricts the potential range of movements between steps without restrict the overall output range.
I tried to make this a real education/tutorial thing for sample and hold, noise sources, slew + track and hold so I hope it's a useful resource for learning about synthesis too.
