Ben Minnotte – Telesound 13 (Moog/Realistic Concertmate MG-1)

Published on Nov 6, 2019 OddityArchive

"The first new piece of music I've written and released since 2012. As a challenge to myself, I tasked myself with creating a song using nothing but my old Moog/Realistic Concertmate MG-1 synthesizer--which is a REAL challenge given that I'm not a synth geek and my keyboard skills are dodgy at best. It also had to sound like something that could've been made and released around the time the synth was made (circa 1982). As such, effects are used sparingly and are confined to the basics (read: EQ, reverb & compression).

Written as part of my ongoing attempts at creating some new, original incidental music for Oddity Archive.

NOTE: Just in case you couldn't tell, the synth pics shown are NOT representative of the patches used.

Available for purchase at http://benminnotte.bandcamp.com/track..."

Critter & Guitari - XY for Organelle

Published on Nov 7, 2019 Critter & Guitari

"XY is a grid-based sequencer. Place notes with the knobs and keyboard like an Etch A Sketch! The grid has two axis that play synth notes and samples at the same time. Make interesting loops by changing the X and Y directions and step count. Link to another Organelle for expanded jammery."

"I got to spend a very few minutes with the Korg NTS-1 at Knobcon 2019 and was very pleasantly surprised how much fun it was. The FX especially are great and the fact you can plug an audio source into it make it almost a no-brainer for the $99 price. This is just a video of my short exploration of this nifty little sound maker."
