"This is the original Yamaha CS-60 Synthesizer which was in the same family as the CS-80 which was used by Stevie Wonder on his albums from the late 70s. This was the first keyboard I purchased. I never considered myself to be a keyboard player. I mainly used this to assist in songwriting. And there was some inhouse rehearsals with the little band I was in. I played it to a much lesser degree once I purchased my Roland Juno106 and Yamaha DX-21. The photos show where this keyboard has been standing (on its own stand it comes with) for the last 30 years plus untouched and unplayed. No wear and tear at all. I only opened the lid recently. I am based in Chicago."

"Such a beautiful sound. I’ve had this for many years and will miss it dearly if it sells. I had the data slider replaced with a new one and also had the output jacks replaced a while back. The joystick feels great. A few scratches on top from being removed from racks throughout its life."

This one was listed back in 2017 here.

"Just serviced, all pots and jacks cleaned. Power supply 220V included.
The top panel starts (from left to right) with the control section. Here you'll find a dial to adjust the Glide rate, another for tuning, and a little red trigger button so you can hear the sound.

The VCO section begins with the analogue oscillator. This can be switched between square and saw shapes, while another switch drops it up and down by two octaves. The raw sound is reinforced with a sub oscillator set to a square. A mix control sets the levels between them, while the pitch can be modulated via the LFO.

Matrixbrute: "Paradigm"

Published on Apr 8, 2020 Kris Lennox

"(Try loud with headphones, or through a good stereo system.)

Matrixbrute, plus a few friends. I dusted off the MB last night as it hadn't been switched on in a while. It still works, which is nice.
Good sound, isn't it :)
For this piece, the MB is in matrix arpeggiator mode.

I wrote the harmonic progression before sitting at the synth, worked on an appropriate arpeggiator sequence at the synth, built the patch, then got on with it. Relatively quick, once the harmony/chord progression was there.

Interesting times, isn't it. The other day I went to the local supermarket with my 'Free Hugs' sign. Didn't quite get the reaction I was hoping for. Maybe I hadn't applied my make-up properly.

In any instance, I'll nip down to the local police station later and see if they want some hugs. Half the time you see them, they look like they could be doing with a cuddle.

More synth soon. Possibly some noise/drone. I'll maybe combine a few toys to create some chaos. And maybe add a melodic part on the Sub 25. But don't hold me to that :)

PS yes, my top has holes on the sleeves. But it is 21 years old. I'd say it is doing well for its age. And given it still works/isn't broken, i'll be keeping it until it no longer works.

All best
Kris"

ADDAC217 Gate to Trigger - Overview

Published on Apr 8, 2020 ADDAC System

"Following our T-Networks series we came to realize how important it is to have the right input signal for firing drum modules or envelopes, Gates and Triggers are often looked at as similar signals but at times it really makes a difference and results will change drastically depending if a Gate or a Trigger is fed to the input of such modules.

This led us to develop this simple yet effective Gate to Trigger.
A four channel converter with bypass switch for each channel.

Any input Gate will be limited to a 1ms Trigger."
