Sequenced Jam #191 (Ambient Modular Synth)

Rheyne

"Sounds from a Make Noise DPO, sequenced by a René, clocked by a Wogglebug and Maths. One VCO on the DPO is processed by a 4ms DLD, and the other is processed by a TipTop ZVERB into a Morphagene. The Morphagene is constantly recording the output from the ZVERB.

Lighting is triggered by the output of the Morphagene and the DLD through Ableton to an Enttec DMXIS. Audio is sent to Ableton via an Expert Sleepers ES-8. Ableton's clock was stopped, and is only mixing audio and triggering lighting. All sounds and sequencing are from the modules. Recorded in one take with no overdubs."

Quasimidi Sirius - Ultimate Ambient Machine?

LFOstore

https://sellfy.com/lfo/

"The time for Sirius had come!

By many demos we thought (as many others) that its only dance machine/groovebox for German techno marches.

Also had feedbacks that its Weirdo.
As always - important to have your own physical imression & experience.

So how is it?
Its a great machine!

Very intuitive & can sound really warm!
All the synth programming is very intuitive & we made first 10 patches with no manual & tutorials needed.

Conclusion:

Sirius is a great machine for Ambient & Vintage Sounds.

And yes, soundset by Nick Chronos is on the way, 3d in the world, after Jay B & Jexus.
Enjoy first sounds!"

HOHNER PK250 MIDI SYNTHESIZER (1985) w/ Curtis CEM 3391 Filter

Andro Umeda

"I have got today this ultra rare instrument in perfect working order. It should have analog voices plus sampled drum section. This is a first power-on test. Love the sounds."

Haven't seen one of these before. Some info via legoluft who's done some mods for it:

"I'll describe the modification of a professional arranger keyboard, model Hohner PK-250, in detail. This home keyboard from 1985 offers many possibilities like poly and solo sections, drum machine, portamento and chorus effects, Hohner chords, etc. It produces stunningly high-class sounds with a warm, analog character.

While studying this instrument more specifically, I discovered two Curtis CEM 3391 chips (24 dB low-pass filter with resonance up to selfoscillation) and several SSM 2024 chips (a VCA module which was also built into the legendary "Waldorf Wave"). I got hold of the chips' data sheets and found out that the very flexible CEM 3391 chips in this machine were hardly taken advantage of, and that many important functions were blocked by fixed, unchangeable control voltages.

I built a simple board with 7 adjustable control voltages, using standard CV model 7805. I used the +12 V direct from the device's power supply. Thus, 7 independent CVs were at hand I could now adjust with external potentiometers.

After replacing the device's fixed CVs for the preset sounds with my own, the machine had 7 important synthesizer functions. Despite of the preset sound settings, I can now manually adjust and drastically change the cutoff, resonance and ADSR envelope values.

The result is astonishing and, through the built-in MIDI interface, this device has become a full analog synthesizer with assertive sound."

Sounds like a bird chirping with spring reverb. Curious if the marble does anything or if it's just going for a ride.

7XWAVE Sample Sequencer

"This is a guide to 7XWAVE Sample Synth & Sequencer app
Explained how to choose tracks to edit sound and quick basic step editing.
Choose/import sounds, filters, trimming modulation and effects."

via the Apple Appstore

"7Xwave - a 7 track sample sequencer with synthesiser & animatable modulation features.
So many sound manipulation possibilities can be had with this whether its a funky electro backing track or crazy glitch effects.

Each track adjustable up to 64 steps.

Choose a sample, tweak the sound using envelopes & filters.

Add effects to each sound, pan, level, sample start, length pitch & filter.

Lock track parameter dials to a step or record dial movements in real time.

Export recorded loops or route audio into Audiobus or AUM etc keeping in sync with other apps using MIDI or Ableton Link.

This app was inspired by the Korg Volca & Electribes. I had so much fun with the Volca but it felt limited in memory and steps. It was a very fun sound toy & occasionally a loop maker but I wanted to be able to store more, longer patterns, and have more variation in sequences. Being a massive fan of the Korg Electribes, i looked at the recent Electribe Sampler. It was cool but just didn't seem as fun as the older Electribes plus you couldn't animate the sample start and length which to me was the best part of the Volca. So i decided to see if I can make my own app that does what i wanted. Using the knowledge i gained from 2Xb303 & 6X806 I delved deeper into audio coding. Originally an environment artist, I have had to leant alot as i go, but here after many months during a strange year of set backs, I finally finished it. I know there will be some disappointed its not AUv3 as I havent managed to find a way for that just yet. I have had great fun with this and created some cool loops and tracks myself. I dont need my Volca anymore. I hope you enjoy this too.
