The First Modern Drum Machine | Eko Computerhythm

video upload by HAINBACH

"The Eko Computerhythm from 1972 was so ahead of its time that it found almost more fame as a prop in Italian Sci-Fi movies than as an instrument. In a time when a drum machine was all corny preset rhythms, the Eko featured 16 step programming, time division, mixing, individual outs and a punch card memory. Only 15 are known to exist today and it is frequently rated as one of the rarest and most expensive drum machine.

In this video you will find information on its history, its makers and hear it in all its glory.

Sequential Take 5 Synth Filter Demo - LPF Technical Demo - SSI2140

video upload by Creative Spiral

"This is not really meant to be a musical demo, but rather a technical demo of the 4-Pole low pass filter on the new Sequential Take 5 synth. I show filter sweeps with various Osc/Noise setups, and many different resonant and drive settings. In addition, there's some examples with the Vintage Knob.

This shows off the core sound of the Take 5... just oscillators directly into the filter, without any sound design or effects. It's got a lot of Prophet mojo, as it uses the same filter as the New Prophet 5 Rev4 for 1/2 mode. (the SSI2140)
What do you think?

How to make the RetroSound Intro Sound

video upload by RetroSound

"The RetroSound Channel Intro Sound is a mix of 3 different sounds. Start with the Moog Taurus Bass Pedal and a long attack Roland VP330 choir sound. End with a Yamaha DX7 sound.
That's all."

Dronefinger

video upload by zack dagoba

"A simple feedback drone thingy on the Serge Modular (a Paperface system mostly from the early 1970s), plus some visual video feedback too (Panasonic WJMX50 video mixer and JVC KY1900 camera)"

Floyd Steinberg Track: "Ashes To Ashes" (MPC, PEAK, DX, EX5, Guitar, Piano)

video upload by Floyd Steinberg

"Here's a track called "Ashes To Ashes" I recorded using the MPC One, which is sequencing ALL MY GEAR. ;-) EX5 is in multimode, doing the pad and the lead sound (lead was routed through audio output 3&4). Reface DX is doing the bass drone, PEAK is on that arpeggiated, filtered riff, and MPC is doing drums and that choir patch. There are some guest stars in this video:

Xavier Radix
Lanthan O'Ide
Wallmenis
