Fenix II D

video upload by splitradix

"A new version of the Fenix II called the Fenix II D
This version uses CEM3340s for the oscillators and has a slightly different BBD delay as well as a built in power supply.

All synth sounds are from the Fenix II D (dry at the start and then with some delay and reverb from an Eventide H8000).
Drums from a TR909.
Small bit of compression from an API 2500.
Fenix II D sequenced by the Fenix III with the Cirklon helping out and the SND ACME as the master clock."

Moog Polymoog 280A and Roland JX3P synth Jam for Jamuary 14 2022

video upload by

"Todays little melody had me pull out some of my old favorites. The JX3P was my first synth I purchased back in 1999 with the programmer and a hard case for only 200 bucks! How times have changed. Somehow I still think its underrated in the world of synth music, it really is that classic roland sound. The Polymoog 280A is definitely one of the more interesting synths I own, traded for it some 5 years ago for a guitar. My logic was there's way more guitars made than Polymoogs, and while it doesn't do as much as the 203 for the Vox Humana setting alone its worth it.
For some reason a lot of my jams this month seem to go towards an eerie chord progression. I don't know why? In any case I had fun making up this little melody and I hope you like it."

Roland JD-08 Ambient Improvisation

video upload by Martin Stรผrtzer

"I got the new Roland JD-08 synthesizer. It is modeled after the JD800 which I had in my setup years ago. In this improvisation I am using four audio tracks with the "Looper" device of Ableton Live. I can control the Looper and volume with the Midi fighter Twister. Each vertical line of four knobs controls one track. All patches were designed by myself. Effects are Valhalla DSP Delay and Valhalla DSP Vintage Verb."

"Here's an interesting one-of-a-kind synth. We bought this from a customer who was into DIY electronics. He always admired the design of the ARP 2500 but couldn't find one, so he built his own! Well, kind of. He bought MFOS Music From Outer Space circuit boards and assembled the circuits. He made his own front panels to look similar to those on the arp2500 and wired them up. They're installed in a nice wooden cabinet he made as well.

This system is a real pleasure to play. If it doesn't sell, we're going to use it in our studio as a secret weapon, as it sounds great and quite different from our other synths.

Bonesetter - Tarantino-esque Prophet Jam

"Canada is in lock-down again ๐Ÿšง

Trying to fight the darkness of January with a showdown ๐Ÿงจ๐Ÿ’ฅ
If you are struggling with the various stresses of this time of year, you are not alone. Please hang on, things will change, call someone who will listen, and take it one day at a time ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿผ‍♂️๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผ‍♂️๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ

Initially part of some experiments feeding the prophet 10 into the modular, this piece paired so well with some mostly bare trees in the wind ๐ŸŒฟ

The Prophet is fed into the modular, through Monsoon (Clouds), and through the Strymon Magneto. A little Meris Polymoon is also sprinkled on top. This performance has no mixing effects ITB, only a bit of mastering.

"Syntaur's Ron Peter's shows us the majestic Yamaha CS-80 Synthesizer. Starting with a brief history lesson to famous artists who used it like Vangelis, Micheal Jackson, Paul McCartney and Toto. Even newer artists like Empire Of The Sun, Phoenix, Aphex Twin have used the CS80. In every aspect the Yamaha CS-80 is a true analog synthesizer."

POLYBRUTE 80s FUNK! (no talking)

video upload by Jeremy Parker

"As promised from my Arturia POLYBRUTE review, I've been making more sounds and have just upgraded to the version 2.0 firmware to allow some new cool possibilities. This original song, 'Boombox Slide', is inspired by the 1980's funk style of Prince, Cameo, Janet Jackson, Morris Day and the Time, etc. The song actually started right after I made one of the new sounds featured here, "Haywire", which itself was inspired from the keyboardist of the same name. All of the sounds, with the exception of "VHS Keys", were programmed by me and were very fun to create on the Polybrute. Enjoy!"

Relaxing Improv w/Tape Loop, Soft Synth, & Kaossilator [Jamuary #2]

video upload by Poorness Studios

"For the second Jamuary (Fridays in January) session, I used a tape loop (played on my Sony TCM-200DV w/ pitch control), Alchemy soft synth (controlled by my Oxygen25), and the KORG KO-1 Kaossilator. I'm pretty happy with the result. Special thanks to Marc from The Void Electronics for providing the awesome cassette.
