INHALT Oberheim OB-X8 Stereo Bank Custom Double Patches Demo
video upload by INHALTVIDEO
"All patches used in video available here:
http://inhalt.bigcartel.com
This is an audio demo of a custom sound bank of 64 patches (32 single and 32 double) for the Oberheim OB-X8 Synthesizer programmed by professional sound designer Matia Simovich / INHALT (Sequential, Elektron, Roland, Novation, Akai Pro ...).
Matia was one of the sound designers on the shipping factory banks for the Oberheim OB-X8 (patch 1 "It's an Oberheim" and many others in the X8 factory bank) and this library continues in that well established INHALT sound.
Each patch is presented in two formats: double and single. The main emphasis of this bank is the double patch version which is a true stereo version (4 voices on the Left, 4 voices on the Right per key) which features a super wide, naturally chorused massive stereo field version of the single patch. Should you not want the stereo version, each patch also has a corresponding single patch version (full 8 voices).
The sysex file is split into two separate files (one for the double bank and one for the single bank) and BOTH must be loaded for this library to work. Single patches write into the OB-Sx bank and Double patches write into the entirety of the Double Bank.

3rd Wave PPG Comparison 2
video upload by Groove Synthesis
3rd Wave PPG Comparison posts
"The second in a series of one-to-one comparisons of the 3rd Wave Advanced Wavetable Synthesizer and PPG 2.3. Note that the 3rd Wave isn’t designed to be an exact replica of the PPG. It’s our idea of where the original concept might have gone had it continued to evolve. And while we feel that it captures the essence of the original and can sound quite close, it is its own synth with its own character.
Programmed, played and recorded by Matia Simovich / INHALT at Infinite Power Studios.

Berlin School / Ambient jam with Bassline, Töörö, OXI ONE and friends
video upload by Waveformer
"Here's a live Ambient Berlin School jam with Bassline from Erica Synths, the Töörö synth from Fred's Lab, the OXI ONE sequencer, Source Audio Collider and Zoom MS-70CDR effects, and the Bluebox mixer/recorder.
The Bassline starts off with a very basic sawtooth-based bassline, which gets dirtier during the jam. The Töörö joins in with two melodic themes, a secondary bass pattern and a pad with lots of delay and reverb from the Collider and the Bluebox (clouds reverb algorithm).
The audio is recorded to SD card on 1010music's Bluebox mixer/recorder and normalized in Audacity. Video is recorded on a Canon EOS M50 mk2 with the included EF-M 15-45mm lens. Audio and video is synchronized in DaVinci Resolve 17."

Comparison #2: how OB-X8 compares to an original OB-Xa
video upload by Oberheim Official
Oberheim Official OB-X8 Comparison posts
"In a second detailed comparison, Marcus Ryle, co-designer of the Oberheim OB-X8 and an Oberheim engineer from 1980 to 1985, walks through a selection of the most characteristic factory presets on his original OB-Xa to demonstrate just how faithfully the new OB-X8 reproduces each one.
Note that this video does not compare every single preset (there are 104!), but it does show some examples that showcase the different filter modes, using the filter envelope to mod pitch, and layered presets.
All examples are recorded direct in mono, without EQ or effects.
The new OB-X8 — true Oberheim sound. Listen and judge for yourself.

Oberheim OB-X8 // The BIG review
video upload by Starsky Carr
"OB-Xa. Here I go through all the main functions and have some sound demos at the end (the same as my previous sounds only demo - so you don't have to look for it!)
Its an extremely expensive bit of kit - so I do give it a hard time. I think I'm allowed to be picky with something that costs this much! But it does sound gorgeous."
Noise Engineering Introduces Polydactyl Versio Tymp Legio Eurorack modules
video upload by Noise Engineering
"We are taking pre-orders for both these modules NOW. Modules ship Thursday, August 25, 2022.
Pre-order Polydactyl Versio and Tymp Legio here: https://bit.ly/3A9Q5Ab
The press release:
Los Angeles, CA — Noise Engineering is excited to announce two new modules: Tymp Legio for the 6hp Legio platform and Polydactyl Versio for the 10hp Versio platform.
Tymp Legio
Tymp Legio is inspired by the Noise Engineering team's love of all types of bang/ crash/ kick/ boom sounds. This is not your normal drum-kit module with samples or simple emulations, though. Instead, they took the challenge of a small percussion module as an opportunity to fit the drums they wanted quick access to in 6hp. “We really wanted the module to showcase our sense of playfulness. We don’t take ourselves very seriously here and we had so much fun designing this module. We wanted the panel to reflect this,” said Markus Cancilla, Chief of Destruction. Tymp Legio has three modes—labeled Boot, Cat, Boing—each an onomatopoetic reference to the sounds it makes. The Tang switch offers variations within a mode. If you want to duck other signals in your patch to your percussion, run your audio into the stereo Quack input. Tymp Legio’s simple interface puts a massive tonal and textural range under your control.
Availability and pricing: Preorders open now. In stock in black and silver. Shipping from Noise Engineering and retailers starting August 25, 2022; MSRP US$279
Notable features: Tymp Legio
● 6 HP
● Stereo percussion
● That’s not a kick but it’s kickin’ my butt
● Release the quack in: Stereo ducking
● Intuitive controls but powerful sound
● Platform: many modules for the price of one!
Polydactyl Versio
Polydactyl Versio is Noise Engineering's take on a stereo multiband dynamics processor. Equally at home on single-instrument timbral processing and on end-of-chain gloss and mix cohesion, Polydactyl Versio is sure to be love-at-first-patch for anyone looking to zest up their mix. Polydactyl applies a unique and transparent algorithm across three adjustable bands for maximal dynamic impact. If transparent doesn’t suit your needs, add in some multiband saturation. Polydactyl also features a noise gate and limiting capabilities; this is a processor that gives ultimate control of color and dynamics in just 10hp.
Availability and pricing: Preorders open now. In stock in black and silver. Shipping from Noise Engineering and retailers starting August 25, 2022; MSRP US$355.
Notable features: Polydactyl Versio
● 10HP
● Three-band stereo dynamics processing
● Optional saturation
● Limiting
● Noise gating
● Platform: many modules for the price of one!
Platforms
Both modules are part of Noise Engineering’s platform concept: Tymp on the 6hp Legio platform and Polydactyl on the 10hp Versio platform. Owners of a platform module can swap between firmwares, completely free, at the Noise Engineering Customer Portal. The new firmwares will be available when the modules are shipping on August 25, 2022 so current platform owners will get to try them out at the same time. Both platforms are also built on the ElectroSmith Seed and open-source support is available through LibDaisy for customers interested in creating their own firmwares.
