"Is this the most editable, hand-on hardware FM synthesizer? I think so. Korg commissioned myself and another guy to do some custom presets for this. The day we had them ready to go is they day this was sadly discontinued. So...enjoy these sixteen presets I've made at the link below. It's a great synth, easy to edit once you get the hang of it, assuming you have a grasp on FM synthesis works. A 61-key version would be cool to see - or 49 at the very least. Maybe someday?

"Maybe not the best jam ever, but in this one I was trying to have the PĒRKONS play with the other mates in my team. Not so easy to tame that monster. Had a lot of fun playing with it.

In this setup I multitracked the four mono voices of Perskons into Ableton and added some effects (mostly Delay and Reverb) and some EQ to filter the low end. I use the Basimilus Iteritas Alter and Manis Iteritas in the rack, sequenced by the Syntakt, that also has a baseline on track 11."

Kinesis comprises an arsenal of organic grooves, snappy generative arpeggios, evolving sequences and lush ambient pads, several of which employ Hive’s special filter modes.

Most of the presets react to MIDI velocity, modulation wheel and pitch bend.

All presets include XY pad control, which not only appears in Hive’s XY panel, but also in Hive’s preset browser (as a row of 8 knobs) as well as on NKS hardware.
