Want to spice up your ordinary analog VCOs?
In my previous VCA Tips and Tricks video I showed you how to do audio rate modulation using a VCA. It's basically a tremolo, only the control signal is another audio signal.
The result ends up sounding similar to ring mod or FM.
Today I'll show you exactly how to patch it up. And explore the cornucopia of interesting AM sounds using various input and control signals possible using a VCA.

Setup = The Dave Rossum sampler Assimil8or plays 8 loops with different length. In the modular i mix these loops live together and add some effects. With the Assimil8or it’s also possible to pitch the hole track down. I can even slow it down to zero speed, which i do at the end of the jam.
This set can also be used with a quadrophonic PA.

"Take 2 of the previous test sequence and patch. Instead of both VCOs doubling the melody the second VCO is now playing a bass line sequence. Also the melody line is now modulating the filter resonance and the bass line is modulating the panning. I also incorporated the @corsynth glide module for the melody and switched to using the internal @synthesizersdotcom module for the reverb since the Quantec I used on the last video doesn’t translate well to mono on my iPhone! 🤔 I’m also using the SQ-64’s keyboard mode to transpose by octaves.
