I thought it was interesting that the back port connector is different from this one. You might remember the one with a worn out case that looks similar to a leatherbound book from this previous post.

"Everything works perfectly, was totally restored by Electronic Innovations in Michigan. New wood sides, stays in tune perfectly. Almost mint condition."

Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about the Roland JV-1080. Is this classic Roland rack synth the Roland Cloud of the 90s? Can these sounds still be used in modern music production or do we have to subscribe to Zenology? Can it hold up with analog synths?

Check out Don Solaris' webpage for in depth knowledge on the 1080:

Juno 106 and MaxiKorg synthesizers sound HUGE with the Empress Reverb pedal.

video upload by LeSynth

"This video is a demo of the Roland Juno-106 and the MaxiKorg synthesizers being processed through the Empress Reverb pedal. This relatively-new pedal offers such a wealth of rich choices. What a treat it was to be able to hear these classic synths played through the new king of reverb pedals.

Meng Qi Wingie 2 // Unattended Under the Rain ๐ŸŒง️

video upload by Dexba

"PLEASE - DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
[it is specifically recommended to keep the instrument away from moisture, let alone leaving it under the rain]

You'll probably have noticed that already: I really like the Wingie 2.
The microphone especially was a new spark for creativity and curiosity, the sheer joy of messing around with gear.
Combine that with my fascination for rainy days, and I couldn't waste the opportunity to try it under some watery plic ploc.
This was just a first attempt: I will try again, implementing midi, for a broader variation, but the "ambient-feeling" from the ambience sounds turned out to be lovely, and I've listened to this literally for hours, hidden behind the camera, peeping the world through my new resonator.
Hope you'll enjoy it! ๐Ÿงก"

06- The Arturia MiniFreak- Oscillators: Waveshaper

video upload by AutomaticGainsay

"Here is a demonstration of the sound and functionality of the Waveshaper oscillator type found on the Arturia MiniFreak.

The theme was created out of presets and crafted patches over an assemblage of fragments of GarageBand loops. For all intents and purposes, it is a MiniFreak-Only composition.
