"This is a rare vintage all analog electric piano with a flexible built in analog drum machine, bass, chord and arpeggiator auto accompaniment.

I thoroughly cleaned this keyboard inside and out, and it is looking really good for 40+ years old! I repaired the audio output jack and cleaned the scratchy volume pot with DeoxIT. As best as I could, without a manual, I tested every function and Jack (except the DIN sync). Everything is in great working order! The C# and D# keys in the 5th octave are a little loose (they move a little more side-to-side than normal), but otherwise function just fine. The power plug has the ground prong removed.

This is from the era of the Juno 106 and shares many of the same parts like the enclosure and keybed (can be used to refurb a Juno keybed, side panels, some slider pots, etc...). It even has DIN sync to sync up to other Roland equipment like a TR-707 or a 606, etc... Great fun for 1st time piano learning and also for Roland collectors."

video upload by You Kill Years

"Here is a fairly structured (for me!) song, featuring primarily the S1 (sequenced by the serge); a Random * Source Crocodile panel (sequenced by the pyramid); some percussive elements (just a Serge VQVCF, pinged); and some noise & shimmer from the Cocoquantus & ADDAD112)."

"One functional quirk is that the second adsr gets quite long at different knob settings than the first one does. Just a thing to be aware of as you dial them in.

If you are reading this, you are probably aware, but I'll say anyway: as it's a fully-analog instrument, the oscillators do not track as well as DVCO-based synths I've had. I calibrated it once when I first received it, and I've been satisfied from then for my needs. Note though that I've never had any drift problems with them—once the machine has warmed up, you are rock solid.

I have used this instrument quite a bit, and I will miss it a lot. I included a link to one of my videos with it" [above]

You can find a demo of one here.

"This is a vintage, Seiko DS 202 additive synthesizer with both the DS 310 and DS 320 attachments! Some friends had this in storage in the attic since the 80’s and gave it to us.

SEIKO's system was built around a 16 harmonic additive synthesis engine. The user can set any of 16 levels for creating the waveforms / sounds that could be played on the keyboard. The synth also features two envelopes and and LFO for shaping and modulation of the sounds.

Basic sounds (namely PIANO ORGAN HARPSICHORD FLUTE STRINGS ELECTRIC PIANO JAZZ ORGAN VIBRAPHONE CLARINET BRASS) are crystal-clear. They can be edited using the LPF filter, Envelope Selectors 1-4, 4 sounds that can be saved and two chorus effects. The delay (off, short or long) and sustain attack and release can be set using the ‘Time” sliders which happen to be very precise (values include 0, 0.01, 0.02 , 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 seconds). Every parameter can be set using the LCD screen, the 4 envelopes available can be visualized as well as the spectrum settings (over 16 harmonics)."

Behringer Teases BMX Drum Machine - Homage to the Legendary Oberheim DMX

via Behringer

"Friday fun. Our engineers love when they get a new prototype on their desk.

Today, we fired up the first version of our BMX prototype, an Hommage to the legendary Oberheim DMX.

Aside from the original sound samples, the BMX has also a built-in sampler, analog filters and much more. This is one cool sampling drum machine.

What do you think?"

Bad Gear - Korg Drumlogue

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about the Korg Drumlogue. Is this brand new digital/analog drum machine the game changer we have been waiting for or is it just another unfinished hotchpotch of old technologies? Can it keep up with Elektron machines like the Octatrack or Digitakt?"
