Sequential Trigon 6 6-Voice Polyphonic Analogue Synth - No Talking, Just Playing!
video upload by PMTVUK
"Alex Godfrey from Sequential plays through the features of the awesome new Sequential Trigon 6 a 6-Voice Polyphonic Analogue Synth! Sequentials take on the classic 3-Oscillator plus ladder filter sound that really defined the dawn of the synth evolution.
Sequential are known for their redesign of analogue instruments incorporating them into their modern synths with impressive capabilities. The trigon 6 is no different! Featuring an enhanced version of the ladder filter, designed for their pro-3 model, plus those 3 Oscillators with triangle saw and pulse wave features. The possibilities with this synth are endless. With that switchable 2/4 pole resonant filter, with feedback and drive options, you have the potential to go from a bold and crunchy sound to silky and smooth with just the turn of a knob.
As you'd expect the trigon 6 has all the features of the beloved Prophet-6 and OB-6 synths - 6 voice polyphony, playability, easy to program, semi weighted keyboard with velcoity and after touch. But this one packs a punch with its unmistakable '3-oscillators through a ladder filter' sound.
Featuring 500 on board factory presets and 500 user presets to work through, the capabilities of this synth are endlessly impressive. Also present is the Trigon-6 Poly-mod feature with enhancements for sound design as well as the dual effects section including studio quality reverb, delays, chorus, flangers and phasers. Completely analogue stereo distortion and the incredible vintage knob which helps to add that old school vintage character to this modern and powerful synth!"

EMEAPP SONIC TEST DRIVE: STEINER-PARKER SYNTHACON Feat. DON SLEPIAN
video upload by EMEAPP
"That filter! Need we say more. The fabled Steiner-Parker Synthacon is a three oscillator beast of a portable mono-synth capable of immensely fat tones, is highly regarded for its tuning stability and is chock full of awesome control and modulation options. However, the star of the show is the Synthacon's peerless multi-mode LP/BP/HP which has cultivated an identity of its own and has achieved legendary status. Its a fantastic bit of electronic engineering and it truly behaves in a unique manner as compared to its contemporaries. Join Don Slepian as he takes a dive into the Sytnthacon and puts the filter through its paces."

New flight of harmony Facehugger Eurorack Module on Kickstarter
via Kickstarter
"Introducing the Facehugger:
An all-analog, addressable, non-linear, 8-stage, chainable, function generator and control module for eurorack modular synthesizer systems.
What the hell does that mean?
It outputs up to eight different control voltage levels (levels set by the LED sliders) in a sequence determined by a control signal. Depending on how you use it, it can be a:
Control Voltage (CV) Sequencer
Gate Sequencer
Arpeggio Generator
Envelope Generator
Burst Generator
Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO)
Some very basic uses:
Connect it to the CV input of an oscillator to change the pitch
Connect it to the CV input of a voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) to change the amplitude of a signal.
The Facehugger is unclocked, using an internal ramp generator to control the cycling, or you can use any external 0-+5V waveform instead. The Sequence order is determined by amplitude and slope of the driving waveform: if it is linear, the stages will trigger linearly (in order), incrementing with a rising signal, and decrementing with a falling signal. With a non-linear drive signal (like a stepped, or staircase wave), the stages will trigger non-linearly based on the same parameters.
Multiple units can be chained together for longer patterns or for synchronizing to generate chords via a rear chaining header.
The rear Ramp out pin can be used as a synch oscillator, or even - when using an external drive waveform - as a separate, fully-controllable LFO with adjustable curvature.
The Facehugger also has a rear expansion header for a separate expander module that provides individual level out jacks, individual gate out jacks, a master Gate in jack, and a ramp out jack (see Expander Milestone below for details)."

How to make guitar feedback - on a synth
video upload by Richard DeHove
"Who doesn't like a bit of guitar feedback squeal? A great sound which has no easy synth equivalent. Yet maybe here we come close. An Erica Synths DB-01 goes to an EHX Oceans 11 reverb which gives the required feedback starter sound, which is then torn up and given bite by a Fairfield Circuitry Roger That, and at the end for a different flavor, a Dark Glass B3K. With some careful twiddlings the ear-splitting awfulness is quite playable and ready for friends, family to enjoy.

Speldosa - Wintergatan Music Box
video upload by Klevgrand
"We're so happy and proud to announce a unique collaboration and release together with @Wintergatan
Speldosa – Wintergatan Music Box is an instrument that combines the physical craftsmanship with the digital. Speldosa (Swedish for “Music Box”) is the essence of the shared beliefs of Klevgrand and Wintergatan, and their fascination with minimalism. A simple melody played on a music box can contain an equal amount of emotional power as any symphonic work.
For Mac/Win (AU/VST/AAX plug-in) (iOS AUv3/Standalone)
Get it on intro-sale at: https://klevgrand.com/products/speldosa"
"Speldosa is the result of a unique collaboration between Klevgrand and the Swedish artist Wintergatan/Martin Molin. Wintergatan has primarily worked in the physical world (the Marble Machine is probably the most astonishing example), while Klevgrand has performed its craft within the digital sphere. When these two worlds now meet, it results in a product that both visually and audibly inspires the creation of music that you didn’t know you had in you.
Speldosa (Swedish for "Music Box") is the essence of the shared beliefs of Klevgrand and Wintergatan, and their fascination with minimalism. A simple melody played on a music box can contain an equal amount of emotional power as any symphonic work. There is something about the music box sound that never ceases to fascinate.
The instrument itself has been meticulously recorded by Wintergatan and transformed into a playable digital instrument plugin. It features four different models (Modern, Vintage, Antique, and Eternal = Reversed), two different Room models, and an algorithmic reverb.
Wintergatan about Speldosa:
I created the sound by sampling a music box using an acoustic guitar as resonance box. I chose the best samples and it was instant magic. The Music Box went on to become the sonic signature for my two bands, Detektivbyrån and Wintergatan, both recognised for their unique sound. The Speldosa has been the secret sauce in my music career and i hope other musicians finds it as useful as i have.
There is a special quality to this exact music box sound that lifts it above the novelty feeling of a toy and turns it into a real music instrument. It just sounds so good, that’s really it. And it is a sound that makes you write music instantly - the music comes from the sound itself.
During the collaboration with Klevgrand, when they sent me the first beta version of the plugin, i ended up playing around with the sound for three hours, losing track of time. I wrote three songs that day when i was scheduled to actually do something else. That's what the sound does to me, and i think it will do the same for others."
