Mike Perkowitz

Mike Perkowitz is Seattle-based techno and synthpop artist who has long been a part of the city's music scene as a member of Heatsync, Rotor, and Signal Corps and working with the label 1200 Music. While minimalist techno and synthpop dominate his repertoire, he also ventures into pop remixes and obscure piano compositions. Always seeking the perfect jam session, he has created software and firmware sequencers for live work, which are shared on GitHub. Discover Perkowitz's music at Bandcamp and Soundcloud.

BOUCAN - OVERVIEW - EURORACK RAW ANALOG NOISE FX PROCESSOR

"A basic overview of BOUCAN
BOUCAN is an odd analog noise generator with special features like the possibility to behave as a tonal equalizer, a waveshaper, a distortion and even as a filter just to name a few of its secret functions.
BOUCAN is Equipped with 2 channels with their own controls and outputs, with the addition of 3 types of fixed noise outputs, the classics WHITE, PINK and a homemade special one: FIRE !
The COLORED NOISE channel is a mix of different classic colored noise with some nuance while the ROCKET ENGINE and HURRICANE cover the heavy and unusual territory.
Both channels have independent control over its output level and its morphing capability represented by the top 'MULTI FUNCTION KNOBS' that can be voltage controlled.
The amplitude of both channels can be changed at the same time using the “NOISE LEVEL” knob which represents the amount of noise you are injecting in the whole circuit. Furthermore, you can plug any kind of external sources to the direct central INPUT and blend it with the internal noise circuit, or simply switch off all the noise and use BOUCAN as an effect unit with pleasing and different results at every output !
Now it’s time to…MAKE SOME NOISE ! with some BBBRRRZZZ on top !

Beside that it holds a build in cross-modulation section, an envelope follower, and a ping input. All that makes it a very versatile and interesting filter playground for sound design and exploration."

Very RARE : only 60 to 80 units made around the world... This one is number 0051 (engraved on the back)

It doesn't sound like a clone, it's far more nasty, unpredictable with its own sound signature.

Very unique features :

- 15 types of analog filters

- 2 built in overdrives : one in the VCF and another in the VCA

- Saw width shaping in the VCO

- 3 enveloppes

- semi-modularity with busses (not patch cords)

- Nasty, gritty, angry sound, very alive !

One potentiometer is broken (Pulse width modulation level), you can replace it with a 100k pot."
