Liven MEGA SYNTHESIS - Tutorial Part 1 - Pattern Editing Deep Dive

video upload by ChrisLody

"Full Disclosure: I occasionally take on freelance work at Sonicware on an hourly rate producing synth & sample sound design, beta testing, checking English text and videos like this. Any other shorter videos on my channel containing Sonicware products are not paid content.

More about the Sonicware Liven MEGA Synthesis:
Sonicware's Website: https://sonicware.jp/pages/liven-mega...
Trailer & Yuzo Koshiro's Patterns: [posted here]
My quick overview video: [2nd video here]

So as promised here is my Sonicware Liven MEGA Synthesis deep dive video. This video will look at pattern editing including everything that's available to make your own music. The next video will focus on the FM sound editing overlay so will cover how to make your own sounds

Sonicware and I have both noted how many customers have bought the Liven MEGA Synthesis who have never bought an instrument before, so I've done my best to make this video as beginner friendly as possible which is why this video is quite long. If you're more experienced please use the chapter markers so skip through to relevant sections.

"Rare EMS Synthi AKS: A Unique Piece of Synth History

These synths are almost impossible to come by and hold a significant piece of electronic music history within their quirky exterior.

This one's been taken care of, and despite a small crack on the shell (which you can check out in the photos), it's seriously in fine fettle - always ready to add that certain something to your music that only a Synthi can.

And it's not just the Synthi itself - this rarity also comes with a Digitana Synthi Matrix Interface. An impressive device that cranks up the gear's flexibility, letting you delve further into soundscapes unique to the Synthi universe.

Forget mass-produced, vanilla synths. The EMS Synthi AKS is anything but ordinary. So, if you're in the market for a unique, hard-to-come-by piece of synth history, then this could be the one for you. Drop a line if you're interested - I'm sure this won't hang about for long!"

Flower feedback using the Stereo Field

video upload by Landscape

"Using the Stereo Field feedback instrument/processor/controller with a flower in place of human skin. The shape of the flower allows for different feedback paths within the instrument providing different results based upon where the flower is touching and how much the petals are making contact. Different flowers will provide different results. You could even process external audio through the flower itself."

TR-606 ✺ into touchable stereo feedback ✺✺

"By patching a mono input into the rear of the Stereo Field while patching across the interface you can turn a mono signal into stereo feedback. Both audio and voltage will be routed through your skin when touching the interface creating many audio responsive feedback paths. The response changes based upon your skin's moisture content, where you decide to touch and how much skin is touching the interface."

NOON passive drum/synth @ 144bpm

video upload by Landscape

"Here’s Noon receiving 144bpm gates to a few different channels. This was edited down from a 12min take but the voltages and pattern coming out of the Beat Step Pro (powering Noon) stayed the same. The changes in movement/rhythm are the result of interactions between different channels and muting/unmuting incoming pitch CV for modulation. The design of Noon is focused on interaction between channels to create unexpected results that are derived from your original rhythmic intention. #synth #electronicmusic #producer #composer #sounddesign"

"Noon being sequenced with Arturia Beat Step Pro (**w/ only one pattern the entire 11:13 video) with changes made by changing Noon's parameters.
**change was made to pitch on BSP at some point.
