Alesis HR-16 High Sample Rate 16-Bit Drum Machine - Circuit Bent

"Professionally serviced and circuit bent HR-16 purchased a few years ago from this wonderful shop, Carolina WDWRX:

Includes 5 3’ stackable banana jack patch cables. All controls and outputs work. A few of the pads seem to require extra velocity to trigger the sound at full volume, but they all trigger easily. The select slider feels a little gummy but tracks values properly.

With no patch points engaged it sounds like a vanilla HR-16. When you start adding & stacking cables it makes all sorts of crazy noises. Now that I’ve extensively sampled it I’m ready to let it go. Probably a million sounds I missed but I’m focusing in a different direction."

Ready to jam. Input your chords and select a style and start jamming. The PSS60 has 70 preset patterns and 50 user patterns as well as 10 songs. One song can hold up to 9,703 notes. Patterns can be arranged using the pattern arrangement function. An on board Mic/Line input allows for connecting a microphone or line level instrument for further expansion possibilities."

"‘Time Extension’ is the 2nd track on my ‘Late Night Tails’ EP.

It’s about making the most of a second chance and constantly trying to evolve.

I drew influences from Kano, Gino Soccio and Giorgio Moroder and just had fun with my synthesizers and some cheeky vocoder 😁

This French Analog Synth Was Lightyears Ahead

video upload by HAINBACH

"Wiggling your fingers on a keyboard for vibrato is something many a musician does intuitively, alas with little effect. For decades this important way to make an instrument sing has seemingly been relegated to modulation and pitch wheels, with few exceptions in the recent years. This makes for a rather indirect play style, lacking the natural expression of bending a string. It is little known that already in the year 1939 in a sanatorium in France, the inventor Georges Jenny created an instrument that would allow vibrato on a keyboard directly. This is the story and sound of the Ondioline, an instrument I love so much I recorded an entire album with it.

Bad Gear - NOT the P-6!!!

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. In spite of my limitless love for Roland in general, my efforts to turn even their most controversial gear into a sought-after classic and the fact that I was prophetically advertising their instruments months before the actual product announcement, our favorite synth brand didn’t send me their new Aira Compact P-6.

However, today we are going to talk about the Korg ES-1. Putting this creative sampler from the year 2000 on the show is not only my personal way of coping with the unfathomable disappointment, the two instruments are - a few modern bells and whistles aside - suspiciously similar.
