"We present SWAM String Sections, a set of virtual instruments from Audio Modeling that model string sections (violin, viola, cello, double bass) rather than individual instruments, including the interactions among players. These plug-ins also introduce Audio Modeling's "Ambiente" room modeling technology, which is now available in all SWAM instruments as well as a standalone plug-in. Ambiente allows you to model the properties of an acoustic space (size, material, etc.), the positions of various instruments, and the interactions of all the instruments with the room.

"The Future Sound Systems Cric is a fully analogue, matrix-patchable electronic music synthesiser. In this video, sound designer and composer Michael Manning shares some patches and thoughts on this monster synth after having it in his studio for the past few weeks.

Future Sound Systems say: 'Cric is far from yet-another-monosynth but the heart of an analogue electronic music studio. Rock solid VCOs give the user pitch precision and FM flexibility. A comprehensive filter section affords timbral sculpting from basic filtering to total transformation of incoming tones. Four cyclical function generators can be used as envelopes, LFOs or audible VCOs. Pin matrix patching allows for the synthesiser to be configured as a traditional 3 * VCO mono-synth, a paraphonic synthesiser, a drum machine, a noise and drone box, and so the list goes on. Four inputs and outputs with a microphone preamplifier on input 1 allow for audio processing, external CV control, feedback routing and much more.'

"MFB SYNTH PRO is an eight-voice synthesizer. Its analog sound generation is based on circuits and technology used in the classic synthesizers of the 70s and 80s, but enhanced here with contemporary, practical functions. One of the SYNTH PRO's special features is its oscillators with continuously fadeable waveforms. These VCOs can alternatively be switched to a DCO mode. The filter section has two separate VCFs with different characteristics that can be linked for joint control. SYNTH PRO also has 240 memory locations, a polyphonic sequencer, an arpeggiator, comprehensive MIDI controller control and a digital effects processor."
