Korg Mono/Poly garage-find | Did it still work after all those years?
video upload by Espen Kraft
"The Korg Mono/Poly belongs to a friend of mine who (if my memory serves me right) did find it in a garage somewhere, alongside a Roland Jupiter-4 which was beyond repair from what I can remember he said. This is a short edit from a longer video I once had on my channel.
Oscillator 1 on the Mono/Poly did not work and that prevented me from doing a couple of things with it, but it still worked and what you hear in this video is what I got out of it. Only the kick drum is a sample. The rest is the MP you see here.
Since this video was made the synth's been repaired/restored and is now working 100%. The dust did come off.

Serge New Gates - Complex Sounds
video upload by Serge Modular | Random*Source
"The new generation of the Serge Gates from 1973 was (re)designed by Serge himself in 2022 and is now available for eurorack (in combination with the equally new VCFX filter). Originally intended as a VCA with selectable characteristics, the new version adds ring modulation. However, since the other 2 CV inputs can be used at the same time (with varying results depending on the mode and knob settings), the New Gates are an invitation to be (able to)used to mangle different waveforms - this videos aims to give an idea of what that can sound like.
Modules used: Serge GTS, NTO, Extended ADSR (handling keyboard input from Microfreak in some patches), additional GTO in some."

Which one is for you? UDO Super6 or Super8 .. or Gemini?
video upload by Starsky Carr
"While I've got these 2 UDO synths 2 in the studio I thought I'd put them together. Thy are very similar. The Super 6 costs less, has 4 octaves but longer sliders. The Super 8 has an amazing keyboard, more voices and a couple of extras.
i thought sonically they would be the same, but the filter is different. It's more resonant on the Super 8 and the modulation amount is much greater ... much more like my Jupiter6. Something I noticed when I put the Super6 and the Jupiter 6 together was less mod. This has been improved... loads better!
My overall takehome is -- if you're a keyboard player (not tweaker) it's the Super8 all day long. The Super 6 fits neater on my rack, and still has the poly aftertouch with the upgraded keyboard. I'm so fickle the Super 8 caught my eye as it looks more like my Jupiter 6 - the dimensions have a real classic feel. Being practical I should keep the Super 6, but who's lead by their head not their heart? ;)"

RK008 MIDI FX: Note2CC
video upload by Retrokits
"Another MIDI Effect on the RK008 is a little utility called Note2CC. It allows you to convert/add MIDI note messages to Control Change messages. There Are three modes, available under Digit 4 in the MIDI FX selection menu:
Velocity to CC :
Takes the MIDI Note velocity value for use on CC values
Note to CC :
Takes the MIDI Note number value for use on CC values
Random to CC:
Trigger a random CC value Generation on a MIDI Note on message.
You can use these in different ways, for example adding random panning or trigger filters and even use a track for MIDI sidechain usage."
