Buchla 208C

A custom OS for the Korg DW-8000

"I reverse engineered the OS (firmware) of the Korg DW-8000 from 1985, and have started to add some new features. Bringing some new life to a 40 year old synth!

First up, as a proof-of-concept, is an additional waveform for the LFO.

I'll add more features, so if you have a DW-8000 and are wishing for things, let me know in the comments!"

"Experimenting with the extended range mod for the slope filter (VCFS)

Negative slope is running through the VCFS then into the FM input on an oscillator. So pitch modulation provides an idea of the CV mangling that can be achieved."

"A piece created using the ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field and ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10. It's a beatless track where synth harmonies, enhanced by spatial effects, resonate.

On the OP-1 field, I trigger harmonies with a MIDI sequence output from my DAW, while layering in live keyboard playing. I also manually operate the synth's filter with a knob. The output is processed with ‪@gfisys‬ SPECULAR TEMPUS’s Shimmer Reverb.

On the Prophet-10, I play sounds with a slower attack, and its output is routed through ‪@strymon‬ blueSky to apply deep reverb."
