"It's a noise gate, it's a noise suppressor, it's a compressor, it's an expander, it's stereo.

Want a SumpPump? Get one here

Special thanks to Jack from SetonixSynth for making this whole module thing possible!

The Specs and Stats:

Width: 6hp

Attack and Release knob for envelope(s)

Threshold for suppression/compression (0V - ~8V)

Floor controls the amount of suppression/compression from -100dB to Unity and even up to +10dB for expanding the louds louder or make the quiets a bit louder.

Level controls your overall output level

Gate/Comp switch: When in "Gate" mode, whenever the input falls BELOW the threshold level, the envelope will engage towards the floor setting. When in "Comp" mode, the envelope will trigger when the input rises ABOVE the threshold setting.

Rhodonea II

video upload by John C.S. Keston

"This video is a new interpretation of Rhodonea (Rhodonea II) that I performed for SEAMUS (the Society for Electroacoustic Music in the US) at Purdue University on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The animated, generative, graphic score developed with Processing.org sends corresponding MIDI data to an electronic, hardware instrument called the Dirtywave M8 #dirtywavem8 #dirtywave (https://dirtywave.com/). A previous interpretation of the piece ( • Rhodonea: Radical Futures Performance... [posted here] ) used Ableton Live 12 synths including Meld.

The piece serves as a model of how we might collaborate with near future synthetic entities. Software feeds automated, algorithmic, projected visual cues, tempi, and low frequency oscillations to improvising electronic musicians. The visuals, based on Maurer Roses, suggest melodic, harmonic, and percussive gestures that are modulated by data streaming from the generative animations. Throughout the piece the artist adapts to the familiar yet unpredictable graphic scores and corresponding signals.

Note: please watch in full screen and listen on headphones or high fidelity stereo speakers. More details about this video are available at https://audiocookbook.org/video-rhodo...

PlantsSystem-Visions 1/2 2/2

video upload by plantssystem

"Visions 1/2 2/2 were created with Cycling'74 M and SEQUENTIAL Prophet-5.
M runs on a PowerBook G3 and uses the piano and koto sounds from the built-in QuickTime sound source.
Prophet-5 is layered on top of that.
1/2 is Piano & Prophet-5.
2/2 is Koto & Prophet-5.
It is a two-part work.
The Prophet-5 provides a shadowy pad sound on 1/2 and a noise modulation sound on 2/2.

Why you need Space Echo in your Eurorack and how to play with it live!

video upload by Bastl Instruments

"John Dee from the Bastl Crew performs "Sync Drift" with a Bastl Eurorack setup. This live modular set features the M8 sequencer, Michigan Synthworks MSW810, and Bastl modules including Basil, 1983, Neo Trinity, and Pizza. Watch as John explores synchronized LFO modulation, waveform shaping with the Pizza Oscillator, and real-time tweaking of Basil's delay effects.

► Take a listen to 'Sync Drift':

PATCH NOTES:

The patch starts with the M8 sending a MIDI sequence to the 1983 to drive two voices. The first routes CV/trigger to Pizza’s V/Oct and Sync inputs, with the CTRL knob set to the internal envelope. The second voice sequences the bassline via the Michigan Synthworks MSW810 CV/GATE inputs.
Neo Trinity handles LFO duties: LFO A/B channels (smoothed random) morph Pizza’s oscillator shape and tweak Cinnamon’s filter cutoff via Aikido, while LFO D/E channels control Basil’s Blur and Speed. Pizza’s main and octave outputs mix through Aikido (Channels C/D) before feeding into Cinnamon’s high-pass filter, which is FM-modulated by LFO B. /moΕΎnΓ‘ Neo Trinity's LFO B pro jasnost?/
Basil processes the filtered signal with a synced ping-pong delay, with its Blur and Speed tweaked live alongside Neo Trinity’s LFOs.
Aikido’s VCAs allow for muting and fading of Pizza’s waveforms and modulation depth on the fly, while Bestie outputs the final stereo mix."

G-Storm Electro Introduces ProADSR 3310 Dual Envelope Eurorack Module

video upload by gstormelectro

"Today I am introducing my ProADSR eurorack module, a 3310-based dual envelope generator. It has that special je ne sais quoi you didn't know your sound was missing.

Check out my Reverb Store for ProADSR availability and all the other cool eurorack modules I make https://reverb.com/shop/gstormelectro"

ProADSR is a 3310-based dual envelope generator with that special je ne sais quoi you didn't know your sound was missing.

Colorfully exponential Attack-Decay-Sustain-Release contours.
Decay goes from very snappy (1ms) to slow as molasses (130s).
Lots of short-range decay adjustment
Metal shaft potentiometers and Mini-Contempo knobs

Each envelope has:

GATE input w/ red LED indicator + trimmer dimming
2 buffered positive-voltage output contours
a DC inverted contour

Contour Measurements

minimum GATE signal required | 4.2v
ATTACK range | 1ms to 10s
DECAY range | 2ms to 130s
RELEASE range | 2ms to 40s
positive contour magnitude | 10v peak
inverted contour magnitude | -10v peak

RE-GATING BEHAVIOR | At gate off the envelope proceeds to the RELEASE stage. If RELEASE is still sounding off when a new gate is received, the envelope picks up again at the ATTACK stage at the extant voltage position.

A Nice Song for Spring

video upload by Hologram Electronics

"This 1970s Wurlitzer 'Music Learning Module' inspires with its simplicity, making just one sound.

It sounds like a transistor organ, playing a simple, unfiltered waveform. No sensitivity to velocity and a simple gate-like envelope. Immediate attack, immediate release. We could easily recreate this sound with a modern day synthesizer, but would we have been as drawn to or inspired by that sound if it wasn’t coming out of this bright blue relic? Probably not.

We hooked it up to Chroma Console to add a little bit more variety and life to the static nature of the sound. Maybe we’ll make a longer video of this pairing, but until then, enjoy this little synth-pop jam!"

Shakmat Griffin's Claws: Demo

video upload by Shakmat

"Attenuators and VCAs are the secret sauce of every modular patch, providing opportunities for creative control and sonic movement. However, simple attenuators require constant adjustments, while voltage-controlled ones never offer precise attenuation throughout the evolution of your patch. Enter Griffin’s Claws, a new way to automate attenuation in an intuitive yet detailed way in your system.

Griffin’s Claws features four recordable attenuators with offset normalization, selectable linear or logarithmic response, and cascaded mixing on the outputs. Syncing with external clocks, gate outputs tied to fader movements, Sample & Hold, non-volatile memory of 16 presets, select bus compatibility and control on rate and amplitude complete this rich set of features. With such flexibility and precision, you will find that Griffin’s Claws soon becomes indispensable in both live performances and studio setups.
