"This unique, touch-activated synth offers a three-octave range and features an XOR modulator for ring modulation. The Harmonicon automatic harmony keys play a perfect fifth of each tuned root note, allowing for rich harmonic textures. Dual Luma filters enable active timbral shaping via light control, adding expressive depth to your performances."

"A true vintage collector’s piece. The EMS VCS3 aka “The Putney” has been used by Brian Eno, Jean-Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, The Who etc.

This is an extremely clean example with minimal wear and tear. The unit has been wrapped in plastic and stored for decades. Recently unearthed, it was taken to a tech who replaced all electrolytic capacitors, rebuilt the power supply, and got the reverb in working order. This synth is also a very low serial number. Also included in the sale is the rare Cricklewood keyboard."

Polyend Synth - NEW v1.3 UPDATE - New DWA Synth Engine!

video upload by Oscillator Sink

"The Polyend Synth just got a nice firmware update (v1.3) which incorporates a bunch of MIDI refinements, some new grid modes which open up new performance options and most importantly the new DWA engine which is a fun, dual sample based engine with a comb filter that can be approached in loads of interesting ways.

Transparency Notice: Polyend sent me Synth when it was first released for free in order for me to make a release video. I have not been otherwise paid for any follow-up content made about Synth, although I was given early access to beta versions of the firmware.

Polyend Synth

video upload by Luca Longobardi

"Had the pleasure of trying the new Polyend Synth firmware 1.3 ahead of release. The new DWA engine opens up a world of textures — fragile loops, glitchy fragments, resonant feedbacks, all waiting to be shaped. It’s a reminder of how beautifully unpredictable sound can be."

700 FM System x BOSS ME-50 – How Many People Still Use This Forgotten Classic?

video upload by Gm Xe

"The BOSS ME-50 is one of my favorite effects units — simple, expressive, and still inspiring after all these years.

In this setup, I combine the 700 FM System with the Buchla 208C in a four-voice configuration:

One voices from the 700 go straight into the Auratie (fully wet).

One more pass through the 208C’s LPG .

The 208C main output runs through the ME-50 to shape the core sound.

The other two voices pass through the Auratie

In this patch, I use the ME-50 for distortion, modulated pitch effects, and a spacious delay that blends with the Auratie

This is a cross-era collaboration: vintage guitar effects, FM synthesis, and West Coast analog character blending into one ambient/experimental performance."

FM Synthesis - A Practical Guide - Part 2 - Pad Example, Vibrato, Tremolo, Wubs and Wonk!

video upload by ChrisLody

FM Synthesis - A Practical Guide

"Here's something I've been meaning to get round to starting for ages, a practical guide to FM synthesis. In my experience FM tutorials usually over explain all the wrong things and rarely get as far as the important things like which setting will make usable sounds.

This episode covers using 2 operator 'stacks' to create a 2x OSC like setup, setting up vibrato, tremolo, LFO to filter like wub-wub sounds, 2 types of 'wonk' and a pad example.

The pad sound is inspired by Selected Ambient Works by Aphex Twin. I think more specifically it was inspired by the pad sound from Ageispolis but I haven't tried to recreate it exactly.

(I have a horrible cold at the moment so apologies for my voice!)
