Melody & Probability - #eurorack Session with all AJH SYNTH Sound & Modulation Modules

video upload by AJH Synth Official

"This session consists of 4 voices, mixed, effected and recorded directly into the modular (see 'Modules used' below). A simple Moog-style bass line using the Transistor Ladder Filter is accompanied my a pitched drone from 2 VCO's going into the Wave Swarm, then Fixed Filter Bank 914.

These are joined by a melodic, sequenced part, created with a single VCO going into the Ring SM for sub-bass/sub-octaves, then the Sonic XV Diode filter. This part is randomised later in the track, and uses the Chance Delay for step probability.

Percussion comes from the Entropic Doom, with random stepped voltages from the Tap Tempo VC-LFO modulating it's built-in low pass filter frequency. The Tap Tempo VC-LFO also acts as a clock multiplier for this part, and later the melodic pattern too.

The AJH SYNTH Eurorack modular range consists of high-end modules, all hand-made in the UK, most of which are based on classic, vintage designs, authentically recreating the circuitry of much sought-after analogue instruments and technologies of the past, whilst greatly expanding them, and bringing them to modern Eurorack levels of convenience, limitless flexibility, and reliability.

"Effect pedal made from an authentic Korg KLM-711 Chorus board, as seen in the Poly-800 and DW-6000.

I added a few modifications that allow you to adjust the Wet/Dry Mix, LFO rate and LFO Amount.

The LFO will go into audio rate allowing for ring mod sounds.

The Amount will change the LFO shape, once you pass 2 o clock on the knob it will clip the triangle shape making it more of a square wave.

The footswitch is true-bypass and will send the input signal to both outputs when the effect is deactivated.

Needs a 9-15V DC tip-positive power adapter, not included."

"The definitive Italo-Disco groovebox. 15 crunchy 8-bit PCM drums, analog bass & lead synths running SSM 2044/CEM 3350 filters, and that lush triple-BBD string chorus that melts in stereo.

Arranger & sequencer in one box. 24 preset rhythms + 24 fill-ins, 64 fully-programmable patterns, chord memory and arpeggiator let you write entire tracks without a DAW.

Pro I/O that rivals modern gear. Individual outs for eight drum voices plus separate bass & ensemble outs; full MIDI in/out and tape interface for old-school backup.

'S' upgrades over standard 24. Extra crash-cymbal EPROMs, expanded 8 kB RAM, and—most important—factory 110 V transformer for hassle-free US use.

Undervalued sleeper. Boutique sample libraries (UVI Program 24, ClusterSound, etc.) try to clone this exact box—own the real silicon instead."

Original Classic MFB 501 (Early 80s)

"Fully functional original Fricke Rhythmusmaschine MFB-501. Reissued a few years back, and it might be my imagination, but I'd say – with all due respect to the MFB-501 'Pro,' it was very cool of MFB to do that, esp. considering the original price it went for – this, to these ears, sounds considerably better; deeper, and, though this is not a real thing, I know, but I'll go ahead and say it anyway: more analog. I take it back, that sounds awful and stupid. It sounds really good and it is fully analog (but so is the Pro, which adds the MFB Kult's samples and MIDI, which this one all lacks (it has trigger input though, which is cool), and but so be aware of that).

At the time, the 501 outsold Roland's TR 808 by far in Germany, and over a 5000 units were sold. This from one guy in Berlin, hey, follow that. Nowadays they're nevertheless quite rare, as far as I know. Well, I'd keep it if I could afford it.

For its age it looks pretty great (see pics), all the switches working like charms, sounds kind of amazing. Someone wrote the voltage and polarity on top; this can be cleaned but I thought it looked cool. It comes with a Euro PSU that adapts to that info, BTW."

Cricket, a musical instrument jewelry that can be played

video upload by 合成少数派 Synthesis Minority

"The Cricket is a solar-powered musical instrument jewelry. It chirps in the sun and can be played by shading. The patterns on its front are not only for decoration but also touchable. The three areas control three oscillators respectively. Pressing them will increase the pitch, change the timbre, and speed up the rhythm. There is also a touch point on the back that will interfere with the output and produce noise. A clip can be attached to the back to wear it on clothes or bags. You can also put it in the grass, and you'll feel closer to summer.

We synth players don't hang Labubu on our bags, but the Cricket 🦗🥳"
