Ambient with Music Easel : Gum and swing 2025-08-13 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"Music Easel × Omnisphere

An ambient piece where soft percussive hits and a slow-moving synth lead float over a warm sustained harmony.

The ‪@buchlausa‬ Buchla Music Easel is routed through a ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MK II, adding spacious delay; its simple phrases stack into gentle, multi-layered textures.

The backing bed is built chiefly from ‪@SpectrasonicsVIDEO‬ Omnisphere synth pads."

Assault on Precinct 13 cover - ‪@SynthAddict‬ & ‪@pfmdude‬ collab

video upload by SynthAddict

"Proof of concept collab with Paul Farvour (‪@pfmdude‬ ) of a great old John Carpenter track from Assault on Precinct 13 (1976).

Here I took an old Roland JD-Xi cover demo (uploaded here a few years ago) and sent it to Paul to jam over with his awesome live drum chops."

JX2044 Synthesizer Protoype - Polyphonic aftertouch test

video upload by adamstan84

"#JX2044 Quick test of response to PAT MIDI messages (routed to filter cutoff)."

You might remember adamstan84 from previous posts on the site dating back to 2015.

"#JX2044 is my latest synthesizer project. It's an analog synthesizer inspired by Roland JX8P. The "2044" refers to the filter chip I used - V2044 from CoolAudio, which is a clone of legendary SSM2044.

Here are some basic specs:
8 voices, bi-timbral
2 DCO oscillators with CrossMod (AM) block based on JX8P, but with PWM capability, and with added triangle waveform instead of noise for DCO B.
3 ADSR envelopes per voice - with switchable Exponential/Linear shape
3 LFOs per voice - LFOs can be slaved together for typical monophonic behavior. Seven waveforms - triangle, sine, square, rising ramp, falling ramp, random and noise.
4 pole (24dB/oct) resonant low pass filter (with self-oscillation)
DCO B can be used as source for Filter FM
master HPF per layer, adjustable in 16 steps.
Digital effects section per layer, with 4 blocks:
Resonant filter bank with two modes - "VP330 Human Voice" ("Male" and "Female" presets) and Polymoog Resonator with three adjustable bands.
Stereo chorus with three modes - "JX Slow", "JX Fast" and "StringMachine" - the last one using three delay lines modulated with dual LFOs.
4-stage phaser
Delay/Reverb

I tried to somehow group the sounds, but there are some oddballs here and there in between. Anyway, here are some bookmarks
00:00 Bread'n'butter sounds (pianos, electric organs and other emulative patches)
05:07 Analog classics
13:09 Patches showcasing filter bank from FX section (choirs and brass)
14:12 Odds & ends 1 ;)
15:07 Synth basses
16:08 Noise sweep
16:32 Mostly pads - including some "pseudo-digital" ones, for example...
17:13 "MKS Voices"
18:18 Fantasia ;)
18:54 StaccatoHeaven ;)
20:46 SDS Drums
21:01 Patches using Filter FM
23:09 Odds & ends 2 - splits and layers

New Organelle S2 - Meditation at Arpeggiator Lake

video upload by Critter & Guitari

"Jam at the lake with the new Organelle S2! Order today! https://www.critterandguitari.com This video was made with the Arp-II patch."

"The Organelle S2 has arrived! From the outside, the S2 features maple keys and sturdy black metal enclosure just like its predecessor, but the insides have been completely redesigned. It now runs on a 1.8GHz quad-core processor — 50% faster than the Organelle S!

There are lots of small improvements too: a new encoder with a smoother feel, easier WiFi settings, and even a redesigned SD card slot that prevents the card from slipping into the device.

The Organelle S2 runs all your favorite patches with ease — and has room to grow. We’re also excited to explore some more advanced possibilities."
