Ambient | YAMAHA TQ5 FM Synth
video upload by Akihiko Matsumoto
"Raw FM textures for forward-thinking bass music producers
https://akihikomatsumoto.sellfy.store...
This pack captures the unmistakable character of Yamaha’s late 1980s 4-operator FM synths, with all their sharp digital edges and lo-fi charm intact. The TQ5, often hidden in the shadow of its more famous siblings, holds a unique place in synthesis history. It delivers angular, glassy tones that feel both futuristic and retro, with a sound design potential that quietly laid the groundwork for timbres now celebrated in modern club music.
Created for producers who care about texture, this collection offers bass and drum sounds with a distinct edge. Artifacts, aliasing, and resolution quirks are not just preserved but embraced, giving each sample a bite that generic VSTs rarely achieve.
New Systems Instruments DISCRETE MAP and DMAP / full breakdown
video upload by BRiES
"In this video I explain how I used DISCRETE MAP and the expander DMAP A/B/C in a track and along the way I demonstrate how the module works. This really is a unique sequencer. The expander makes so much sense as well.
Thanks to @NewSystemsInstruments for letting me have a go with these modules.

Introducing Erosia – the hidden sounds of friction | Native Instruments
video upload by Native Instruments
Update: press release follows:

Harness sounds of friction and tension, transforming them into powerful sonic storytelling devices
Berlin, August 28, 2025 – Native Instruments has announced Erosia, a new cinematic sound design engine that turns the raw friction, scraping, bowing, and cracking of overlooked objects into living cinematic textures. Erosia creates morphing and modulating soundscapes from materials under strain, from ice crackling across cymbals to glass vases straining under tension. Explore a palette of bowed bicycle spokes, dry ice, abandoned buildings, rusted hinges, cracked pianos, and more; each stretched to reveal a hidden resonance.
Created with veteran sound designer and composer Jeremiah Savage, the sound artist behind acclaimed Kontakt instruments like Kinetic Metal and Kinetic Toys, Erosia comes loaded with over 200 expressive snapshots, providing ready-to-use starting points for any cinematic composition. By pairing contact microphones with traditional close-miking, Erosia captures the best of both worlds: the hidden, tactile vibrations inside materials, and the natural resonance and space around them. This dual approach reveals textures that are at once microscopic and cinematic.
At the heart of Erosia are three powerful engines: Grain, Wavetable, and Sampler. Grain fractures and animates textures, Wavetable adds evolving harmonic color, and Sampler preserves realism.
Artists can layer up to four sources, while creative macros and modulation via LFOs, envelopes, and sequencers offer countless ways to animate and evolve sound. A comprehensive FX page provides further built-in creative control with a suite of reverbs, delays, saturation, and more, all available for modulation.
Key Features:
· Over 200 expressive snapshots designed for cinematic scoring.
· An eclectic palette of textures captured with contact microphones in microscopic detail.
· Three powerful sound engines: Grain, Wavetable, and Sampler
· Layer up to four sound sources for complex, evolving timbres.
· Deep modulation control featuring LFOs, envelopes, and sequencers.
· Creative built-in FX with reverbs, delays, saturation, distortion, and modulation effects for each layer.
You can find additional details at Native Instruments.

video upload by Instruō
Also see DivKid's video here.
"The Pocket SCÍON is a portable device that captures biofeedback data sourced from contact with living organisms.
This data is used by the onboard sound engine to generate evolving soundscapes and a range of MIDI messages.
The data is also accessible as OSC messages which are broadcast from the accompanying desktop application.
Anyone can create, shape, and enjoy music with Pocket SCÍON regardless of existing musical experience.
Despite its stand-alone, plug-and-play interface, experienced or adventurous users can use the MIDI and OSC output capabilities to integrate Pocket SCÍON and biofeedback into their studios, installations, and audio- visual projects.

Circuit Bent Feedback Generator / Video Synth / Video processor by LoFi Future
video upload by LoFiFuture
"A rough and ready demo of this one off feedback generator I built a while back using a fancy-schmancy Silicon Image iScan Pro!
Availible to order here: https://lofifuturestore.square.site/p...
This unit is capable of producing some insanely intricate and evolving feedback loops on its own and it can also be used as a video processor to colourise and glitch out composite video signals for some very 80s looking posterized visuals.
The interface is simple, the upper part housing the built in preview screen also has directional controls and an illuminated zoom button for controlling the position of the image on screen.
The main control surface features:
-3 oversized 45mm knobs for controlling the Red, Green and Blue levels
-5 small knobs that control brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and sharpness
-6 toggle switches for triggering circuit bends that are wired into the Silicon Image iScan board for some glitch effects!
The unit features a 12V power input a composite output (PAL and NTSC) and a switchable composite input (so you can switch from feedback loop mode to video processor mode without rewiring anything)"

"This feedback generator / video synth is based on a very nice Silicon Image iScan composite to VGA scaler that features analog potentiometers to control brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and sharpness. This is something I have not been able to find on another model of composite to VGA converter and they seem fairly hard to come by.

Deux Chevaux (2hp - get it?)
video upload by Memetune Studio
"Here I am exploring some 2hp tiny little euro rack modules - putting them up against one of the first and mightiest modulars of all time
The 2hp modules are: 2 x Loop, a Pitch and a Delay - and the combination gets us some very nice (in my opinion) 'Concrete' behaviour
This piece is pretty much a live performance, I set up 1 pass of the Buchla going to Loop module 1, set it to loop round, repeated this going to Loop 2 and then I had a live pass going through the Pitch and Delay which I messed about with alongside manipulating the Buchla settings (mostly Gate attack and decay settings, and controlling 3 VCOs pitch with the Touch Keys)
The 3 mono channels were panned and recorded down at the same time - kinda playing along to the Loops in real time. The video was faked - ie I ran out of hands so I filmed it afterwards, but you can see the patch cables - they are the same as the recording patch
Hope that makes sense
Bye!"
Explaining Solar installation quantum cloud
video upload by errorinstruments paul tas

"Solar Installation — A Music Box from the Future
Solar Installation is an experimental synthesizer — a bridge between art, sound, and technology. It reimagines how we interact with music, offering a different and deeply artistic way to explore and create sounds.
At its core lies a patch bay that opens up endless sonic possibilities. By experimenting with its connections, you can discover countless “sweet spots” where unexpected textures and tones emerge. The engine itself is alive with movement, evolving harmonics, and shifting layers of sound.
An integrated effects processor lets you transform these tones even further, adding lo-fi echoes, delays, and atmospheric modulations to shape entirely new sonic landscapes.
What truly sets Solar Installation apart is its dual-mode oscillators. Each of the four oscillators can be controlled in two unique ways:
• Precision Mode – using traditional potentiometers for accurate, tactile manipulation.
• Light Interaction Mode – using highly sensitive light sensors that respond to movement and changes in illumination.
This makes the instrument behave like an interactive installation. By positioning it in different lighting environments or allowing natural shadows to play across its sensors, the machine evolves on its own, creating ever-changing, generative music.
Sometimes, it behaves like a futuristic music box — a self-driven system producing evolving patterns, unexpected harmonies, and “happy accidents.” It invites you to let go of control and embrace the beauty of randomness, where sound becomes an organic, living experience.
Solar Installation exists between instrument and sculpture, science and art, intention and chaos. It’s not just about making music — it’s about exploring possibilities.
